The Hop and Friar, Shrewsbury

Called into the Hop & Friar Saturday afternoon (first time in yonks I've visited this place) and it was quite good. Staff helpful and nice atmosphere, and they now have HD TV screens around the pub (showing Sky Sports News when I was in there), so looks like I have another pub to watch football or Formula One in! A good experience overall, and this place is very much back on my `Favourite Pubs in Town Cenre' list.

The White Horse Inn, Shrewsbury

I hadn't been to the White Horse for a good few years so on Monday whilst around that area of town I decided to check it out. Seems now to be a family & meal-orientated place with a big long seating area to the right as you walk in, and was quite busy when I arrived. Had 2 pints of Foster's which were very good. Only real complaint was the music - they were playing a Celine Dion CD!
Overall quite promising but can be better.

The Corbet Arms, Uffington

The Corbet Arms has reopened after undergoing a huge makeover. I dropped by yesterday afternoon and a very good job has been done. There's a small bar area and a huge louge area for diners, along with doors at the back which lead out to a wooden balcony and an absolutely spectacular view of Shropshire. There were a few customers in when I arrived including a group of elderly people there for a meal. I had 3 pints of Carling and while the first and last were good, the second was a bit flat but I'll forgive them. Overall, a very nice pub, particularly for diners & I can see myself coming here again.
