The Lighthouse, Battersea

Battersea particularly by the park is most definately an area of 'haves' and the 'have nots' and The Lighthouse is clearly frequented by the former. That said its a great pub with a good atmosphere and an excellent garden. I prefer late afternoon/early evening before 'Henrietta and Ollie' finish work.

The Queens Head, Chelsea

I really like the Q's H. Its one of the few in SW3 that hasn't tried to re-invent itself. It is what it is, a proper pub! Some of the previous comments have centred around camp bar staff, free condoms and gay clientel. Well get real, you've been in a GAY bar. Seriously though the front bar is sort of straight and the back bar a bit mixed/gay. Its a melting pot of Chelsea FC supporting cab drivers, lost American tourists, Peter Jones shop girls and a regular old bunch of queens holding court. Long may she reign

The Pigs Ear, Chelsea

About as far removed from a proper chelsea local as you can get. Frequented by over stuffed faux city wannabe's who guffaw deeply and constantly into their surgically attached blackberrys. The femail of the species are even worse, loud, screechy and keen to mate. The bars dreary and the staff so, so indifferent. Apparantly the food isn't bad, all be it expensive for pub fare. If only you could put up with noise, come 10pm its a fusion of Henley Regatta and Ayia Napa. Avoid!
