Characterful and relaxed interior, good range of well kept ales at reasonable prices, pleasant and efficient service and nice food. In my opinion this is a fantastic pub. Recommended. strangetorpor - 4 Mar 2014 14:19 |
Great gastro pub, with a lovely big open fire! My Roast was amazing!!!! The Staff were friendly and warm, and knew there stuff regarding wine and food. Thanks to all the team there, will be back when i'm in the area again barman123 - 12 Feb 2012 13:58 |
i visited here for the second time for a friends birthday a couple of nights ago. Must say both times i have had a great experience. The staff are warm, friendly and seem to know their stuff and the food was delish! DIdn't have to wait too long and although it was really busy, with no free tables (best to book in advance if you want to eat in the restaurant i guess) our food was hot, wine was chilled and we didn't feel like we wer forced to eat and go. Would defo recommend this to more friends and will be returning very soon to celebrate my husband's birthday. Thanks a lot Pig's Ear team, see you soon :) lucy_81 - 10 Jan 2012 15:15 |
visited last night. won't be going back again. was thinking of booking it for a celebration, glad we visited before doing so. bar is very nice though selection of beers is poor in the extreme - couple of token bitters and the usual rubbish lagers. the service was dreadful. the surly youth of a barman needed to learn some manners. the 2 people who showed us to own table to eat need to learn to a) make their customers feel welcome and b) learn not to throw the menus and wine list into their laps with a haughty air of indifference. we walked out without eating. in short, avoid if you like beer and old fashioned common courtesy. cornish_alfredo - 9 Sep 2011 09:04 |
Have visited on a number of occasions now, and am not impressed. Bar staff are generally slow and arrogant, despite clearly knowing very little about the pub trade. The unsurprisingly named Pig's Ear from the Uley Brewery in Gloucestershire, is sadly nothing more than a rather bland strong bitter that in no way justifies it's hefty price tag. The only other cask option being the uninspiring Deuchars IPA. My advice is to take a stroll over Battersea Bridge and head directly for the Westbridge instead. Misk. - 14 Feb 2011 17:48 |
