Always wanted to pop in. Made the mistake of ordering a large that they only 2/3 pints, seriously?! Full of what looked like ex public school estate agents and their braying other halves. Wouldn't bother again.

Decided to return to this part of London to do the 3 pubs that I failed to visit on Wednesday, due to not feeling too well. The Lighthouse was the first of the 3. It is a good 15 minutes walk from Clapham Junction through a housing estate. This pub attracts a much more middle class clientele and the prices reflect it - £5 for a small bottle of cider. There is artwork on the walls. Food is served and tables were reserved for diners. Although none were evident. There is a big screen, with rugby seemingly popular. 6 Nations matches were advertised prominently. At the rear is a small patio area. 3 ales were on - By The Horns Diamond Geezer & Stiff Upper Lip & Sambrooks Wandle. Reasonable pub, but the most accessible. Prices deter a return visit.

Went there again a few weeks ago - even more expensive now. 8.40 for a large vodka and Coke! Never again!

This is a really nice pub, but it is possibly the most expensive in London! Their large spirits (admittedly with a free mixer) are an unbelievable 6.80! Just slightly less expensive than the Savoy!

Smart, bright and welcoming pub, can be busy at peak times. There's also a modern beer garden with plenty of seating out the back. Board games, a large wooden tiger (which you have to be careful not to walk into given it's in the corridor), and an interesting range of beers mean this stands out from the crowd despite its off-the-beaten-track location. Frankly we were impressed by the service - one of our group's food was late (possibly forgotten), when we pointed asked about it the staff couldn't do enough to put it right - more chips & drinks for everyone, the missing meal out in about two minutes flat, all on the house - now that's how to encourage return custom! This is noticeably quite a kid-friendly place early on in the evening.
