Finally dropped in Friday evening - convivial atmosphere and a well kept pint of Grand Union something or other; suffice to say it was nicely hopped with Bramling Cross if I'm not mistaken and was just the Autumnal pint required. In fact, aha! Now you come to mention it, it was called Autumn something or other. Bah!
Decent Pub.

The John Logie Baird, Hastings
Give me strength. Even spoon's management are posting now.

Prince Alfred, Burton-Upon-Trent
I have it excellent authority that the Alfred re-opened on Friday last. Await with baited no longer Doctorpint and away for a restoratative pint.

'ickleprincess', I beleive the Gentleman to which you refer is one Mr Edward Bains. Rather well built with a ginger beard? Yes? Thought so.
Since he's a Dear Old Friend of mine, I shall attempt to apologise on his behalf.
'Sorry for being a Grumpy Git - I can't help it. Perhaps I shouldn't really be in customer service after all.'
There. As it happens, his knowledge of beer is very good and he is, incidentally, an ex-brewer. He cooks a mean Chilli and smokes fish (an odd habit I know).
But he is a Miserable Git.

The St Lawrence Tavern, St Lawrence
Landlord Moore has invited all for drinks tonight to celebrate his Time in this most reasonable and busy Tavern. He's off to the Sir Stanley Grey, overlooking Pegwell Bay, and he's sure to turn that into a most splendid venue.

I've found the beer to be iffy in the past and the only time I've eaten here, the chips were still frozen in the middle. Must give it another go..

I remember the good old days - morose teens in white make-up and black clothes. But they used to drink Dogbolter by the gallon back then.

The St Lawrence Tavern, St Lawrence
Alan is a top landlord - with a proper scary wife. The pub gets better and better. Very well kept ales - served a tad cool, in the modern style.

A lively little boozer on the (otherwise) posh west cliff. First time I went in the whole pub stared at me in that 'whoops, wrong pub' sort of way. It turned out that a stripogram had just finished her bit (some strange flemish-speaking bloke with a moustache was having his birthday celebrated) and the gathered mass was expecting another.
Anyway, top pub. Bit too much cheap ale from Swindon and Somerset but I can usually find something I like.

er, had lunch there the other day. No ale anymore (they used to carry GK IPA which was quite nice) which isn't a good start. Guinness was nice. Battered fish was dreadful.

The Tartar Frigate, Broadstairs
Always had a decent pint here but they seem to favour the maltier brews.

The Wasdale Head Inn, Wasdale Head
Wimbourne, are you stalking me?
Its a bit pricey and scruffy but you can hardly nip to the pub down the road! The beer has improved over the last couple of years although even Fosters would taste good after a day on the fells (did I say that out loud?).
If there was only one pub left in the world I'd want it to be this one.

What a boozer - thought I was back in Manc! Ales of the very highest order from the local Wye Valley Brewery, great atmosphere and friendly landlord.

The Grasshopper on the Green, Westerham
Popped in last night to meet friends. Nice friendly place, quite smokey in the back bar but the front bar was very pleasant. I couldn't find the Harveys (Old Tom) but did enjoy some Westerham beers.

Favourite pub in East Kent. Five excellent ales including Gadds Number 7 ('the local'). The landlord and landlady have kept this fine house for 18 years or more. Friendly staff and customers and Biff the labrador. In house band. Altogether very folksie and drink orientated.
Tip: Happy hour starts at 5.30 and the place quickly fills up.
My kind of place so an easy 9.

Just popped in because there's a big banner advertising a beer festival this weekend (Sep 30th). The landlord showed me his festival set-up and it looks great - plenty of Kent beer from Sheps, Whitstable, Westerham and Gadds along with some Dark Star, Burton Bridge, Pot Belly (rare in Kent), Elgoods and Wye Piddle. My only criticism is that the beer hasn't been tapped yet! I'm going back Saturday.

Great little pub with a friendly atmosphere. Ale kept very well - Archers and normally a local brew from Gadds. If Gadds isn't on, ask the landlord why not and watch him go red in the face - very amusing! Sunday lunchtimes are packed with locals - great atmosphere.

The Yew Tree Inn, Barfrestone
Er, I saw some beer from Kent micro's Messers Hop Saemen and Godds' on a recent visit.
And I had a pint of GK Mild in another pub not on this site and it was remarkably good - I'd say dry-hopped with Fuggles - unusual and luxurious.
Apart from that I hate the buggers.
