Worpell, Ware

Popped in whilst visiting Ware. Seems a nice little local, shame it's a Greene King pub. Never mind the guest beer was good, had a nice pint of Morland's Tanner's Jack.
Atmosphere is socialable. barstaff are friendly.
Thank goodness for the guest ale!

The Cherry Tree Inn, Faygate

Oh what a lovely pub!
Popped in on the way down to the Horsham Beer Festival. Friendly place, Hall & Woodhouse ale, food excellent value for money, all in all worth a visit anytime. Certainly made a good prelude to the Beer Fest!

Apple Tree, Gerrards Cross

Oh what a pity.
Used to be a Beefeater, but still had a reasonable beer selection. Now reborn as a 'Ok-Ya', pseudo upmarket Italian style food joint. Beer, don't bother! Unless you're in the Pimm's set, or even worse, a Lager lover.

The White Horse, Hedgerley

Now this is what I call an PUB!!!
Beer well kept, very good and varied choice of ales. A sociable and well informed Landlord (certainly knows his brews). No fancy fonts, all drawn from the barrel.
It is friendly, cosy, and clean, the idyllic English Pub, what a pity that most others have turned into plastic palaces more worthy of a McDonald's sign outside!
I urge you to pay this haven a visit as soon as you can

The Royal Stag, Datchet

I can only agree with the last three comments. Went into the Stag on Sunday evening, Guest bitters were all off. So we had a choice of Old Speckled Hen or London Pride. Speckled Hen went off as it was being poured, so we obviously went for the Pride.
What a mistake, it was dire, probably the last of this barrel as well. I don't often walk out and leave half a pint but it was grim.
Bar staff (all in their early 20's) were totally unhelpful, in fact it was a struggle to get served in the first place.
This used to be the best pub in the village, it's such a pity that it's sunk to this appalling level.
WON'T be going back in a hurry.

Very nice, comfortable English Village pub. Brakspears, London Pride and Hogsback brews, all kept in excellent condition. Food, 1st Class, atmosphere 100%, staff very helpful and friendly.

The Bentley Brook Inn, Fenny Bentley

Lovely Pub, and Leatherbritches Beer is delightful,
sampled Ashbourne Ale and Belter. Shame that they didn't have more on tap, although I did go away with some of there bottled beer. Will return!!!

The Rose and Crown, Thorpe Green

Good pub in nice surroundings, food average.
Beer well kept, altough a bit dissapointed with the Hogs Back TEA, vinegary to say the least.

The Robin Hood, Egham

When God created beer heaven this one fell right through the bottom !!!!!

The Fox and Hounds Restaurant & Bar, Englefield Green

Nice Pub, good to see (and Taste) Hop Back Brewery TEA and Golden Garden, nice drop of Brakspear's too. Resturant food excellent with a fine menu, good value for money, but you'll need to book at weekends.Situated on the edge of Windsor Great Park, gets very busy in the summer.

The Red Lion, Egham

Friendly enough pub, reasonable choice of ales.
Can be full of Students in term time, that's the only real down side to it

Goffs Manor, Southgate

Nice Pub, Hall and Woodhouse Ale, well kept.
Try the Stinger when you're there next, organic nettle beer and very, very good

The Worlds End, Camden

Wow! Excellent pub, got to be experienced to be believed.
Not you're local type pub, but a bustling Rock Joint
with some good beers. Directors particularly good.
Take your wellies for the toilets though!

The Morning Star, Datchet

Interesting pub. Courage Bitter's not bad. It's akin to a scene out of the League of Gentlemen though.
You're not a local, are you.....................................

The Bridge Inn, Tibberton

Friendly local pub, nice drop of Pedigree. Good food with reasonable prices. Bar staff are helpful and friendly

The Star Inn, Alfriston

Stayed at this pub on a few occasions (It's also a hotel), Staff very friendly and so are the locals. Keep a good drop of Harvey's Best. Pub food however, needs livening up. Nice place though, worth a visit if you're in the area.

The Crown, Egham

Nice pub, new landlord/Manager is doing really well. Good selection of ales, on a recent visit I sampled Brain's Golden Dragon - Delecious

6 Feb 2006 13:58

The Compasses, Egham

Reasonable sized pub, a bit lacking in atmosphere, however, a selection of 2 or 3 ales kept well. Could do with serving food, Regulars and staff very friendly (Including ANNA)

6 Feb 2006 13:50

The Royal Stag, Datchet

Friendly village pub, good ale, now returning to 'guest ale' policy, with now less that 2 to choose from, as well as the usuals, Youngs Best, Fullers London Pride,
Wadsworth's 6X. Well worth a visit
