The Rising Sun, Upper Beeding

the last stop on my crawl and in my personal opinion(over three hundred pubs and counting) the best one on this crawl, even better than the norfolk arms which i scored a nine this is one of the top five friendliest pubs i have ever been in!! after about half an hour i felt like one of the locals and the food was fantastic i opted for a burger and chips after my long walk down from steyning and it was so good i tipped the chef and asked for the recipe not a normal burger real top ingredients. i dont know pubcrawlerone who wrote the review below and i can the only reason i can think of such a nasty review is personal(rival landlord maybe) which is a shame because other people may miss out on a FANTASTIC pub because of petty jelousy or sheer stupidity this is the first pub i have scored a 10

The Kings Head, Upper Beeding

the only real blot on my crawl, lovely looking pub the beer wasnt great but the staff were fine apart from i presume the the landlord who seemed intent on ruining the barmaids night by shouting at them(made you want to be somewhere else) great garden though probably the best place to be if you dont want to hear the landlords voice or have him stare at you for talking to loudly. all in all a bit of a mixed opinion maybe its better for food(but i doubt i will be going back to find out)

The Norfolk Arms, Steyning

on my crawl from steyning to beeding i was luck enough to be told about this little gem just off the high street, and what a fantasic place it is reminds me of how pubs used to be the beer was so good i stayed for three which made the rest of my crawl slightly harder one bar is dedicated to the local rugby team who were incredibly friendly and having lots of fun without the over the to policing some landlords seem obsessed with. an absolute must if your in the area
