Asked if they serve food at lunch time and told there is a wide variety of crisps! This is a friendly locals' pub. and a real gem. Pint of Harveys was good. Looks as though little has changed in the last few decades other than the carpet. Won't be to everyone's taste but for those who prefer real pubs with a great atmosphere, it's a must visit. markusspartacus - 2 May 2017 09:04 |
Dived out of here as soon as i'd opened the door as I thought i'd wandered into somebody's living room after a three-night party...now i've been told its ok so I will be back for another look- especially if they have poetry on. Stank though. alezilla - 8 Jan 2011 16:00 |
on my crawl from steyning to beeding i was luck enough to be told about this little gem just off the high street, and what a fantasic place it is reminds me of how pubs used to be the beer was so good i stayed for three which made the rest of my crawl slightly harder one bar is dedicated to the local rugby team who were incredibly friendly and having lots of fun without the over the to policing some landlords seem obsessed with. an absolute must if your in the area pubquichetaster - 26 Sep 2010 13:45 |
I wandered in here at 6.30 to see a bar covered in glasses, God i said have i just missed everybody as the bar was empty, ah no said she behind the bar, these are from lunch. Fair enough no panic, no to many customers either, still friendly enough and tried some bottled beers from a little brewery across the road . Not bad but dont go there during lunch it might be busy although that may that weeks lunch paddypint - 1 Sep 2010 01:17 |
Not a bad old pub this, bit spit and sawdust but the land lady is friendly and so are the locals, beer is also cheap and tasty. concho - 13 Jul 2010 15:14 |
