The Deer Park, Leeds

Good selection of guest ales. Usually only one ready as others are pending. Very much an "invitation to treat" in that sense. Otherwise, it's an above average pub.

Gosta Green, Gosta Green

As a former Aston student, this was a regular hangout for myself and my friends. In my final year, the standard of beers available was much better. After having just the regular selection of Carlsberg, Fosters, Carling and the ghastly Worthington's, it was refreshing to see the likes of Fruli, Staropramen and Hoegarden enter the fray. The food is average at best, and takes a long time especially when the football is on. All in all, an average pub but being a former Aston student gives it that sentimental value to come back time and again.

Bull, Ditchling

I called in back in 2006. It was packed to the rafters indoors therefore we had to sit outside, which was not convenient as it was rather chilly. There was no overhead heating on the canopy, which was a slight downside. However, the food was freshly made and well cooked, as well as being reasonably priced. The soup of the day was served with a large chunk of crusty bread, and the burgers were cooked fresh and were not at all greasy. The Harveys was certainly well kept, and the tab for 2 people consisting of 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 pints of Harveys came to a total of 33. Definitely worth visiting again in the future.

The Tap and Spile, Birmingham

I had some great nights in here. When there is nowhere else to go when one is bored of the so-called "delights" that Broad St has to offer, then this is the place to go after hours. You meet a diverse range of people from many different countries, all having their own story. Whether or not they are fabricated, that's another matter. The beer is nothing particularly special. However, by the time I normally come in here, I'm really rather plastered, and this place offers me a haven in which to drink myself further into oblivion.

The North Bar, Leeds

I agree with many of the views here. Definitely my favourite bar in the whole of Leeds. Its exterior is rather understated yet chic at the same time. Upon entering, one is like a child in a sweet shop, simply due to its vast array of draught beers unavailable anywhere else in Leeds. Couple that with the choice of bottled imported lagers, and decision time is made that much more difficult. I would recommend this pub to everyone and anyone. Well done North Bar! Keep it up!

Mr Foley's Cask Ale House, Leeds

Probably has the widest selection of continental beers in Leeds. Although I'm not normally an ale drinker, the vast selection of real ale has made me appreciate the taste more, thus I am now partial to 1 or 2 real ales on a night out, thanks to Mr Foley's. The layout and atmosphere of the pub is rather ordinary, and seating can be an issue at times. However, due to its wide variety, I will certainly visit each time I'm out in Leeds.

The Swan, Leeds

Good selection of chilled lagers. Decent atmosphere. Great as a starting point before moving on to somewhere else.
