The Prince of Wales, Kennington
Cracking propoer pub wth proper Shepherd Neame beers in a posh bit of Kennington (but not far off the beaten track). Worth combining a visit with The Dog House nearby

Overpriced but the beer is good. Often difficult to get served on summer evenings

One of the better pubs in the area, and you are usually able to get a seat. Courage Best usually kept better than their Directors.

nothing special, but not especially awful either. Staff warm to yuo if you stay for a session or two

The Hole In The Wall, Waterloo
Decor tired and grotty. Smoky atmosphere. Barman particularly unfriendly on last visit, refusing to give us a tester of a guest beer. The Wellington and the Fire Station are both loads better than this place.

The Dog and Fox, Wimbledon Village
Beer is good, atmosphere okay but a little too rugger-and-rowing for my liking. Best bit is the dart board surrounded by a mosaic of corks - it looks great and excuses many a stray shot

Used to be an excellent pub with good beer and food. Sadly new management has seen it fall badly downhill. Now rivals the Rose and Crown for smokiest pub in SW18

Good beer, in a traditional pub setting with large dining/function room at the back. Food not bad but a bit pricey for what it is. Local councillors often drop in before and after meetings at the town hall. "Beer garden" is overselling it a bit - "outside seating area" is probably more accurate

The Rose and Crown, Wandsworth
Much worse-than-it-should-be watering hole on the one-way system. Worst aspect is that it is one of the smokiest pubs in the world (there's no scientific evidence for this, but it is a fact). But it is very popular all day, usually with the same people who have been in all day, and they have probably been attracted by the cheap beer (which doesn't taste too bad, to be honest, and they usually have some interesting guest beers on)

Whenever I've been in they have had real ale advertised on pumps, but it was either off, or served tasting like vinegar (and then taken off). Plenty of Young's pubs nearby if you want a decent pint, but this place isn't the worst to watch some sport

The Alma Tavern, Wandsworth Town
Decent if slightly expensive pub, with good Young's ales. Nice looking marbelled exterior and interior. Popular with council staff from nearby town hall.

Founders Arms, Bankside
The only reason the Founders Arms has a great view is that you can't see the Founders Arms. Pity those north of the river that have to look at this monstrosity.
Beer not bad, but who knows if that will last when Youngs shut up shop?
