The Jolly Farmers (ex jordan), Lewisham
I was only in the place once just before it shut down om September 10th. It seems the place has new management and is now dispensing with the real ale casks sat up on the bar. Shame, I quite like the place. And its been renamed the Jordan too.

I went in this place once, having only ever been to one Yate's wine lodge before...in Newcastle. My overriding memory from may experience in Newcastle was trying to get rid of a previous nights curry and in a poorly sanitized, open-air lavatory, that was probably the worst lavatory I ever visited in Britain.
And then I go to the one in Lewisham, and the place is like a roman spa...very elaborate....and probably the best public lavatory I have ever perchanced on. I just wanted to share that irony of fate with all of you....
the island.

This place used to be my local when I was a student, and I loved it, mind you, that was 20 years ago...I suppose its changed a bit now.

Oh my god, what a bar!. I live in Germany and I was visiting my friend who was getting married, and the day before her wedding night we hung out here. If you've always wanted to find out what a typical Yorkshire slapper looks, lives and breathes like, come here on a Friday night!. Can't say it wasn't a laugh though. Total culture shock for me.

The West Riding Refreshment Rooms, Dewsbury
Great little pub and a great pint of Tim Taylors. I was there watching Charlton play Man Utd and losing 4:0, what a drag. Met some good musos there, maybe i'll bring my band over there once from Germany, it would be nice. They had some band there that covers Neue Deutsche Welle....wierd for England!!.

My mate Mick R. took me here when I was over in England for a wedding. Impressive range of beers here, Belgian and otherwise. Only trouble is its stuck out in the middle of nowhere, and if someone ends up suggesting that you walk out there with you not knowing the place, you may end up thinking he's planning to kidnap you or something. But rest assured, there is a pub at the end of the universe.

Excellent stylish pub built out of the stables of an old coffee roastery, with a very pleasant "hof" (courtyard) for sitting outside. Interior tiling looks pretty cool too, nice place for lunch and evening. Only pub in Lbeck that does Hoevels bitter, an almost english-style bitter brewed in Dortmund.

A very pleasant typically old style pub in Lbeck (one of only three or four). Pickled eggs on the menu, Knigs Pilsener, and the only pub in Lbeck that does Lwenbru ***minator, can't remember the name exactly, and I couldn't remember much after drinking it to tell you the truth. It took me out for the best part of a week.

Quaint little tapas bar run by a nice (italian) bloke called Guido, although it has to be said he has some suspect taste in music. The theme is very much Portuguese and Spanish. The white port is excellent with a plate of manchego. Only bottled beers here, the usual suspects, i.e. San Miguel, Sagres and "Super Bock".

Pleasant little bar to take a lady, and nice to sit outside in summer. They have Murphy's Red on tap here, a very pleasant brew.

One of the two Irish Pubs in Lbeck over two floors. The name is a wordplay on Lbecks famous author, Thomas Mann. Only pub in Lbeck that serves Newcastle Brown Ale, and they often have some interesting guest beers such as Chimay. the Klosterbier is also good. Regular live music too.

Arribar, Luebeck
Tom unfortunately sold up about a year and a half ago, and the place is now run by Giro from the Strandsalon. Its still a nice place for a drink and he is a nice bloke.
