Tickeld Ivory, Guildford

Great place to go on their student night when the crowd is a bit younger and drinks a little cheaper. We went early and enjoyed some great pizzas too (better than the stoke or pizza express and the like in my opinion too).

Drinks weren't cheap, but the atmosphere was great and was gutted to have to leave before closing ready for work the next morning.

The Thai Terrace, Guildford

Been here a few times and it never dissapoints for food. Whether with family, friends or the girlfriend Thai Terrace is a winner in my books. Rerservations a must and its not cheap, but even as a student it was worth me saving up and going :D

The Ocean Deck, Sandown

Dropped in here for a Saturday evening meal. Had to wait 15 minutes to order as they'd started putting another order through the till and then messed it up. Her order was eventually put through wrong (though they immediately refunded the difference when I pointed this out) then waited 50 minutes for our food to arrive.

When the food did arrive hers was nice, but mine was somewhat overcooked. Was however a good portion size. For the price I paid though I didnt expect to have to wait around for so long or to get very overcooked meat.

Won't be eating here again in any hurry.

The Duke of York, Cowes

We were just finishing the round the island cycle when we happened across this place. As others have said its a bit of a mish-mash between bar/restaurant that doesn't quite get what its trying to be. First impressions were that we would need to have booked and should be smarter than our rain-soaked selves, but we were made to feel welcome.

We arrived in the middle of Sunday lunch and were treated to two fantastic roast dinners (�8.95 each, worth every penny!). Mine was beef, cooked perfectly, and hers was the chicken, again without any complaint. Each had a decent side of veg and the best roast potatoes I've had in months!!

Overall I plan to return on another sunday to enjoy the roast again, and would give 10/10 for my dinner. The confused atmosphere and the fact I couldnt see myself drinking there bring the overall review down to an 8 though.
