Can't believe the prices the pub are charging since Fullers took it over. Absolutely gobsmacked, makes city prices seem reasonable. Never a frequent visitor but on the occasions I did duck in, I was always impressd with the running of the place, thouught previous manager ran a tight ship and you were always quickly served. This lot resent having to put their mobile phones down to serve you and think empty glasses left on tables will miraculously find their own way to the dishwasher. Can't believe anybody is stupid enough to get ripped off in this place. They must see the Conservation Area luvvies coming a mile off!!

Great boozer, with a fantastic range of beers from near and far. Staff very friendly and helpful and price of beers and food is surprisingly good value for the area. Food is also excellent. This pub is a gem and all involved have got things just right. Long may it continue

The Eight Bells, Putney Bridge
This is a brilliant pub. The young, friendly and energetic staff make you feel welcoem. Sarah, the Manager is gold dust. She is everything landladies of pubs used to be but 40 years younger. Loves to chat, makes you feel welcome and runs a tight ship. This is a no nonsense old school pub, resisting the gastro invasion. The food is brilliant and stunning value. This is tthe kind of pub that we need to make sure survives. Can't believe anybody would leave this boozer harbouring any complaints. It is a great, old school boozer.

A wider ranger of wines might be a good idea as the quality of beer leaves a lot to be answered. A Wine bar serving food would probably be a better definiton of this place, as looking after the ale seems to play second fiddle to churning out OK food. Price of booze does not reflect quality. Wetherspoons down the road, for all its faults, serves a far better pint, as well as range, and the beer is properly cared for. Suppose like many of these new gastro boozers, cracks in service and standards begin to appear after a few months. Hope this is not the case but will need to look to their laurels now the Station has had a revamp. Good for local punters though, a choice at last!!

Best thing about this boozer is location of toilets. You can sneak in, have a piss and not waste money on silly prices these arseholes are charging. Far better pubs in the area. Avoid, and let the poor tourists get mugged!!

Popped in for a quick pint on quiet Sunday evening and saw three cloudy pints being returned. in space of 5 minutes. lWhat looked like undrinkable pints of Young's Ordinary and an equally musky pint of Special. Poor barman was left to sort things out for himself as lazy managers were too busy upstairs watching TV. While this pub promotes itself as offering good food and beer, it does anything but that. Initial improvements in the boozer and investment in decor are compromisd by sloppy management. To see crap beer being served in a Youngs boozer beggars belief, but more worryingly for the new owners of Youngs is to see lazy managers do nothing about it. in addition there were 10 people in the bar, including a group of 8. Had to wait 5 minutes to get served. This pub is being ruined by lazy, complacent management and the brewery need to be aware.

How can anybody charge you 4 for a pint of ale and then tell you all tables are reserved except one blocking the toilet for customers who might require wheelchair access.? Busy time of year I accept, in that case simply notify that the 'pub' is being used for a private function, but don't charge punters ridiculous prices for a pint and treat them like social pariahs. Beer wasn't bad but if the barman had said that it was 4 before serving I would have happily walked back into the snow blizzard outside.

Late afternoon pint was well rewarded with really friendly and engaging bar staff who offered samples of ale before deciding what to choose. Keen to know your views as well. Mine a light Everard's number which was fresh and just right for a July afternoon. View from outside deceives also, as this is a roomy and spacious boozer. Imagine tone changes with the arrival of the legal pin stripes after five, having made their millions across the road, but a late afternoon visit is the perfect time to experience a wonderfully well kept and friendly pub.

Pitstop, the nickname seems to suggest that a pub is just that. Refuel as quickly as possible and move on, and whoever slows down your return to the race is a target for rebuke. In this case Lurch. My experience of service is not too dissimilar from yours, except that the one person trying to accommodate customers on his own on a busy Sunday afternoon was Lurch, and did so admirably, with most customers knowing that he was hard pushed to serve all and still appear good natured. However there is a hardcore of clientle, using this boozer, who assume that they have some divine right to be served before anyone else and it is their privilege to go to the bar with their empty glass and call out for a pint regardless of who is in line for service. And maybe Pitstop, you are one of those ignorant oafs who frequent this pub and antagonise others with your immediate demand to be served and become disgruntled when your request is not met. As a result, tolerant and willing bar staff get it in the neck. My recent experience in this boozer has been quite different. Lurch and other staff have been accommodating and good natured, yet people on the other side of the bar are, too often, aggressive, rude, impatient and unwilling to show good manners. Maybe Pitstop you should look to see where the problem really lies in this boozer. Is it because that not enough staff are on duty? As was clearly the case on my recent visit. In which case it is a management issue. Or is it because some staff simply take exception to the manner in which they are spoken to!!

Pub seems on the up. Had a nice couple of pints this evening, in contrast to dire swill I was served a few weeks ago, which I had to send back (still can't believe the barman then asked if I wanted another pint or my money back!). Pub was busy, friendly atmosphere with no snarling staffs, sitting there looking at you as if they are deciding which bollock to chew off first. Bar staff were friendly, efficient and was not left waiting, another improvement. This area is crying out for a good local, boozer like the Crown used to be. Its made a start!

Have visited this place twice in the last two weeks and on each occasion have been struck by bar staff's determined avoidance to clear tables. Some punters even prepared to sit at tables with plates not cleared and piled with unfinished meals for more than hour. The place is simply not clean, waiting to be served at the bar with the whiff of the gents toilets behind me was hardly an inviting welcome. Why can't boozers like this get the basics right? Clear the tables, be happy to serve and clean the khazis regularly. Not much to ask if you are paying over three quid a pint. I think I'd much rather the smell of other people's fags than the stench of stale piss.

The Crown, Lee
Can't believe that nobody has reviewed this'boozer' for nearly five years and all the money spent on it's re-vamp. In a nutshell , to walk in and discover overnight the pub has decided to ramp up up the price of a pint of Guinness from 5 05 to 5.25 beggars belief.. Already the price was beyond that charged in most boozers in town despite its location beside a friendly local council estate next door. To put this in perspective, the Station charges 4.40 a pint. The local Spoons, if you want to go there, over £2 cheaper. This is an obscene way to treat local customers. Only driving them away to drink elsewhere. Clearly the emphasis is now to attract punters to eat in the restaurant, having spent a fortune on the expansion for dining, although even that experience is hit and miss.
