Two ales on; Black Country Bitter and Best Mates Vicar's Daughter. The BMVD was borderline on/off with floaty bits. Only there for a half so didn't make a song and dance. Nice pub and seemed friendly, but ultimately disappointing.

Luckily for a midweek visit there was a firkin of Old Bog Dancing Morris available in splendid condition at 2.30/pint. Also available WBB GOB, Hook Norton Old Hooky and Brakspear Oxford Gold. Well worth a short detour from the A40.
If you read this tonight (Wed. 11th June) Old Bog Quarry Gold will be available tomorrow.
Rumour is that the brewery housed in the (ex)toilet block at the rear of the pub is to increase capacity from 1 barrel (36 galls) to 5 barrels......more Old Bog beer, more often!!

This is a fairly unique concept - real ale on a boat - but it works. The beer was in good nick - I assume it's bright beer. Difficult to tell if you're swaying from the beer or the wake of the passing boats?

When I come to Gloucester I come here for ale. Don't think it's been decorated since WS passed through! Good beer range that is generally in good condition. Oversized beer glasses will please CAMRA members!

The Golden Heart, Nettleton Bottom
Can't understand why the rating is only 6! Friendly welcome even when I'm wearing my Bath RFC shirt. The food is good and adult portions are ample. Kids menu is unimaginative though - kids don't complain. Good range of beer on offer, generally in very good condition.

Unfriendly, cramped and overrated. The beer was good though.

Get's crowded on match days, but this does not detract from the welcoming nature of north bristol folk. Always a decent selection of ales. C'mon the GAS!

I can't believe it's beer!! Typical Wetherspoons cavern with usual selection of weirdos, DSS claimants and drunks.

This pub has a beautiful interior. Worth a visit for this alone..........but also come for the ale which is wonderful. Very much looking forward to my next visit.

My favourite pub in London for real ale. Varied range of ales from all over the British Isles. Generally the bar staff are friendly considering how busy this pub gets!

Very friendly welcome and a very very nice pint of Bateman's. A little bit worn around the edges, but perfectly acceptable for ale drinking!

Dark but not (too) dingy. Real ale range not very exciting. I agree with some of the other reviews - A bit over-rated!

Nice pub - Very cozy. Friendly welcome. Three real ales from Hop Back in very good condition. Come to Devizes visit the museum then pop in here (just around the corner) for a couple!!

If I could own a pub - This would be it! What I call a proper boozer. Four real ales available on handpump. Recommended - Enjoy.

UPDATED REVIEW. Paid a vist last night. Nice ladies serving. The guest ales were; Three Castles Best, Thwaites Original, Archers Robin Red Breast, Ramsbury Rum Truffle & Hidden Treasure all in fantastic condition. Amended rating - 6 to 9/10. Looking forward to many more evenings like this! Footnote for sofakinwot (very funny name) I didn't say the landlord was miserable, I was referring to the punters - Oh hell my sides have just split!

This place has improved over the last 12 months or so - The decor is brighter and not so many weirdos. The beer has improved also and is becoming more consistent - The beer range is also good.

I've been coming here regularly for the past 3 years or so and I love it. Walls and ceilings decorated in pump clips/beer mats. Eight real ales always available. Welcoming at lunchtime but because of the layout can seem unfriendly when packed (in the evenings). Recommended.

The Reckless Engineer, Bristol
Ideal location to sup a pint or two while waiting for your train. The beer was in good condition and the bar staff friendly. I'm not too keen on the pale blue decor though!

Great pub! A friendly welcome, lots of ale to choose from (Archers, Burton Bridge, RCH et al) and good value too (2.00 to 2.40 a pint).

I always feel welcome in this pub and the beer is always in good nick! Swindon's best....by a country(?)mile.

Not the friendliest pub in the area, but the beer range is good and the quality usually matches. Worth a visit especially in winter for the open fire. In summer the large garden/patio (pergola) is very pleasant.

The Masons Arms, Meysey Hampton
Has changed managers several times over the previous two years. Currently in the guise of a gastro pub. Haven't tried the food but popped in for some ale last week and the three I had (four available) were in excellent condition. I will return!!

The Old Spotted Cow, Marston Meysey
Three ales available which are always in very good condition; Sharps Doom Bar, Ramsbury Pophams Pride and a guest. Very welcoming and friendly by both staff and punters. Should be a contender for the GBG.

This is a very good pub; an excellent range of ale, always in excellent condition; friendly service. A must if you're in Reading!

The Three Horseshoes, Marlow
My first impression was that it is more of a restaurant than a pub. Very busy at lunchtime and the food looked very appetising. Only passing through so just a a half of Rebellion Green Shoots - very good. 6 ales on including Mutiny, Mild and Blond(e). I will return when in the area.
