have used this pub many times and always found it a good place to have a few drinks, but went in last weekend looking for some food.we went upstairs and were greeted with a lovely dining room with good food and some of the best service I have had in years.

17 Dec 2012 06:53
if this is a reincarnation of the fox in wardour st then something has gone very wrong.it reminds me more of a teenagers bedroom rather than that good little pub we used to use after we rolled out the ship.very disapointed.
17 Dec 2012 06:47
not being a ale drinker cant comment on quality but are all of these types of beer that expensive? nethertheless had a fine afternoon
12 Dec 2012 16:16
went in a while ago and the two girls behind the bar(who were both English) conversed with the few drinkers in there and everyone had a good afternoon, makes a change to get good service like that.

I want to like this this place but every time i go in there
I am always confronted by the most disintrested staff in london.
please cheer up
22 Aug 2010 09:33

went in recently .staff were bad, unintrested.
pub smelt strange.

were here.good solid pub
25 Jan 2009 12:42
The Hand and Racquet, Covent Garden
looks like the whole block is being targeted for something.
at least the tom cribb is just around the corner.
17 Jan 2009 14:07
Shirley thought it was a very attractive place. I found it expensive but ok
31 Dec 2008 15:15

12 Apr 2008 14:56
The Lamb and Flag, Covent Garden
smashing pub, but how hard is it to serve
chilled bottled beer ? you pay enough for it.
23 Dec 2007 19:04
went in a while ago (first time in a few years) the place has been ruined.used to be a great pub, wouldnt give it the time of day now.

The Southwark Tavern, London Bridge
I like the pubs in this area, none are outstanding but most you feel comfortable in.The Southwalk Tavern is no exception. It has a very relaxed feel an some unusual seating downstairs.
5 Sep 2007 19:17
nice to sit outside.Shirley thought the toilets were very good.
1 Sep 2007 10:59
tucked out of the way, this is a good pub for a few relaxed beers.better than most in the area.
4 Aug 2007 08:00
The Hung, Drawn and Quartered, Tower Hill
Not what you would expect from the outside, quite nice when you get in but not very big.
10 Jun 2007 10:28
The Green Man, Great Portland Street
Went in one afternoon there were 2 people sitting at a table that was it,And would you believe it took about 10 mins to get served.Couldnt see any staff anywhere.Would have walked out but had to wait to see how long it would take to see some bar staff, strange.
10 Jun 2007 10:22
I dont use this pub as much as i should do.Enjoy a game of pool and spending a fortune on the juke box. This is the sort of pub I like,I think I will go there this afternoon.
10 Jun 2007 10:17
The Globe on Morning Lane, Hackney
Nice friendly pub in Hackney, just off mare st so has more of a local feel to it
10 Jun 2007 10:09
I quite like it in here,It isnt great and when the football is on the tv it can get very busy.Have had a couple of good sesions in there so it cant be too bad.Handy for a quick one if changing tube lines
10 Jun 2007 10:06
I have used this pub a couple of times when going to the albert hall.It is horible I cant think of a good thing to say about it.It reminds me of an old wetherspoons. If you are going to the albert hall try coming from the other direction or have a few drinks in there(if you can afford it)
10 Jun 2007 09:58
I use this pub when in the area,it is nothing special but good for a few beers.the prices are a bit steep but it is better than drinking in some of the poncy places in the area, still much prefer the dublin castle.
10 Jun 2007 09:49
ok, but very overated,I think it is living on its reputation from years ago when it was a good pub
10 Jun 2007 09:43
an honest pub, does what it says on the tin.an ok place for a beer
8 Jun 2007 08:33
The Brewmaster, Leicester Square
ok pub, nothing special, like many pubs in the area, souless
8 Jun 2007 08:26
Boadicea, Charing Cross Station
I have only been in here once but i stayed for more than one drink so it couldnt have been that bad,or could it,I was drunk at the time.I will go back again and see if it is as bad as everyone is saying because I found it ok
8 Jun 2007 08:22
This place is every thing i hate about these sort of places.I dont want to sit in a place where everyone is eating bar food and watching tv.I am not stupid and realise that tv's and food generate much needed cash but i prefer a pool table and a juke box. lucky everyones diferent i suppose .nice enough place with a long history
8 Jun 2007 08:18
Ben Crouch's Tavern, Fitzrovia
strange but rather good.tucked just off oxford street you will go to alot worse places in the area
8 Jun 2007 08:08

8 Jun 2007 07:49
The Argyll Arms, Oxford Circus
Quite a good pub considering it's location.nice decor but has always been busy when I've been in but what would you expect being right next to oxford circus tube.worth a visit
8 Jun 2007 07:44
I have ended up here a few times and always had a great night, might have just been lucky judging from some of the other reviews.I dont normally like o'niells pubs but I find this ok.the table service for beer was good and fast considering it was a friday night and heaving.not the best pub in the area but by no means the worst
8 Jun 2007 07:37
The King Edward VII, Stratford
How can this be the 3rd best pub in the country?
Its not even in the top 3 in Stratford.
If you want dinner go to a restaurant,if you want
a good drink go to a pub.
I dont dislike this place but I wish pubs would
be pubs and restaurants would be restaurants.
18 May 2007 12:56
What a find, cheapish beer, pool table, jukebox, darts, didnt have any food but that looked good.great interior also. Not sure why it wasnt very busy.Couldnt stay long but will go back soon.Great place.
16 Apr 2007 16:30

The Churchill Arms, Kensington
good traditional pub,
very friendly place,best in area
12 Feb 2007 15:44

First time I have been here in about ten years,
