Nice pub, welcoming staff & good ales (I haven't eaten there ...yet) beer is a bit pricy but that is to be expected given the location. when I was there last it was reasonably busy but the staff coped well, considering the number of people who popped in for a quick pint and the crowd in the dining area the whole place was still kept clean & tidy. all in all a good little find. After a couple of pints in the Draft House we moved on to this large Fuller's pub which sits in a prominent position on a busy junction between Tower Hill and the Embankment. I have driven passed this pub many times over the years but until now have never visited it. On the bar is the full choice of Fuller’s ales and lagers across the 6 hand pumps, my pint of Oliver's Island @ 3.8% was very good. Being a large pub it was around half full, no food being served on this visit but it is one of Fuller’s pie and ale establishment. Nice interior with columns, drapes & brass chandeliers, complimenting the wooden and brass bar. We only stayed for one drink before moving on as there wasn’t much atmosphere on this visit. lezford - 6 Feb 2016 10:02 |
Popped in after visiting poppy installation at Tower Hill - Usual Fullers decor had a pint of Fullers Autumn Red Ale which was pretty decent, and so it should be an eyewatering and frankly outrageous £4.25. Nice one Fullers urbanteardrop - 30 Oct 2014 15:57 |
Mixed feelings about this place. Decent pint of seafarers, but the food is as overpriced and under portioned as you'd expect in tower hill. So I suppose you pay your money and takes your pick. I can't say I'm eager to eat here again, but worth a stop for a pint or two if visiting the sights nearby. TommyRogers1979 - 5 Oct 2014 08:59 |
