The Old Coffee House, Soho

once saw bobby gillepse from primal scream in there acting pretenious

9 Aug 2006 22:02

The Toby Jug, Tolworth

if you remember the maff days have you seen pete doherty from chessington? no not the babyshambles one
shame it was bulldozed and the pub always had potential

massive claim to fame - bowie played the toby on the first date of his ziggy tour on 10 feb 72

3 Aug 2006 22:41

The Red Lion, Tolworth

its a harvester not the red lion which i fondly remember. needs atttention, ie beer garden could do with childrens facilities and the beer is watered down

3 Aug 2006 22:38

The Grey Horse, Kingston Upon Thames

Remember keep music live. Good Guinness as well.

2 Aug 2006 21:52

The Slug and Lettuce, Kingston Upon Thames

I cant believe Roy is dead. No tribute in the Comet. Pah the times there are a changing.

2 Aug 2006 21:52

The Half Moon, Putney

Remember keep music live. Beer average but the music is the main pulling point.

2 Aug 2006 21:50

The Flying Scotsman, Caledonian Road

Cabaret expert I meant. I think my eyes are going.

2 Aug 2006 21:49

The Flying Scotsman, Caledonian Road

As something as a cabaret excellent not that impressed. The Queen Anne in Vauxhall is much more friendly. Beer was ok but the vibe meant I wouldnt stay for a 2nd pint.

2 Aug 2006 21:48

The Robert Peel, Kingston Upon Thames

Battle of the bands? What about the cabret? What the Peel has been known for for 30 years. Beer average though.

2 Aug 2006 21:47

The Spring Grove, Kingston Upon Thames

Gets my vote. Good cheap beer. Great beer garden & friendly staff. 9/10

2 Aug 2006 21:45

The Old Ship, Richmond

Another pub - ditto the Berrylands & Vic in Surbiton - NOT ruined by a refurb. At last the breweries have got the message (after 20 years of messing so many up).

Aside from that beer reasonable.

2 Aug 2006 21:44

The Puzzle, Westminster

There or the Marquis for lunch? Bit like asking Ant or Dec. There really needs to be a decent boozer in this neck of the woods.

2 Aug 2006 21:41

The Marquis of Granby, Westminster

The pits - not the pub the customers. Full of no nothing Defraites.

2 Aug 2006 21:40

The Victoria, Surbiton

RE the comment of 31 July - I was about to say that! fancy a pint? Seriously nice boozer with excellent bottled Youngs, ie Kew Brew, Waggle Dance, Champion. Nice bar staff in general & cheap. Also like the Berrylands not ponced up after the refurb - 9/10

2 Aug 2006 21:37

Woodies, New Malden

One of my nearest pubs but not the warmest welcome - very much a locals - and the bar staff & customers show it. Excellent ESB though.

2 Aug 2006 21:34

The Berrylands, Berrylands

I first started going in here in 1982 - indeed the first pub I got drunk in!
Moved back to the area last year & its a pub okay for a quite pint or 3.
The refurb is not bad either as they have kept most of the original features.
