Closed down as far as I can tell. Only one pub left in north Tonbridge now!

First pub I ever went in where all the customers appeared to be related and/or married to their sisters.
I was there Sunday and despite the above, it was great fun. The weather was pretty filthy so the pier was a great place to be especially inside. Me and my mate Levi got hammered on 1664 and watched the world pass us by before getting a good feed of chips on the way out. First rate - I commend it to you all.

Well I was wrong. The new guy is even worse than the old one! A total ignoramus - I am amazed someone like this could be granted a licence.
I wish them the best and hope he can make it work somehow but I for one will not be rushing back again.

The Rose And Crown, East Peckham
Closed at the moment following a "mystery" fire when the landlord went bust.
That said, a scaffold clad burnt out shell is an improvement on what was there before and I hope it remains that way.

Recently taken over by new management. For what should be an absolute gem of a pub this is pretty average. Beer (Spitfire) was quite poor and food was overcooked (though it was cheap).
Unless I hear of real improvements I won't be going back.

Excellent traditional little country pub!
Landlord and locals all very friendly. Superb bitters (Badget and Lemony Cricket when I was there). Good value home cooked food.
Spent a great aturday lunchtime here and really enjoyed it - will definitely be back!

Closed down a couple of years back. Probably a good thing - as I recall it was pretty grim!

Beer always excellent and a ghood variety to be had. Food excellent though a little pricey in my opinion. Excellent wine list at generally very reasonable prices.
8/10 from me - would have been more if the landlord had not spent the whole evening leching over every woman thet came through the door!

Did not take long for this to start going downhill!
When new it was ok and a breath of fresh air for Tonbridge. Owners now seem to have decided to milk this cash cow as hard as they can at any cost and as a result, the pikeys that made the Station house so unbearable are back in force.
Beer is great and well kept so I would not complain there - just he clientele is dragging it down.

Closed now as a result of ludicrous over-pricing. I heard it is going to open again as a Chinese restaurant.

Went in here Friday and it was like stepping onto the set of "Emmerdale". Full of farming type married to their sisters and trying to avoid buying a drink while actually owning half of Kent.
Drinks however were excellent (especially the Harveys) and the steaks, cooked by the Zimbabwean landlord Pik, are to die for.

Could be a great little pub were it not for the arrogant, unintelligent and obnoxious landlord. A few of the locals told me he is leaving later in the year (after trying to cream off a little more cash during the world cup!) and that they can't wait to see the back of him. Once he has left I will definitely go back because I think this could be a cracker.

Red House, Tonbridge
Nice friendly pub good beer and a great garden in the summer. Sadly, I hear this is going to be sold, demolished and turned into more houses as is "not viable as a pub" . If its true then I think it a shame - its in tfhe middle of some vast hosing estates and could be a real money spinner if someone with a bit of business sense and imagination were to run it.
RIP the last pub in North Tonbridge.
