The only reason to come is to visit a pub not on dry land. Otherwise, as mediocre as one would expect although that is slightly better than poor I guess. John Smith's Smooth is the only 'ale' on tap while football (the Manchester derby) was on the big screen. Transient indeed - although hard not to expect that given that the pier has no permanent population.

I didn't expect much and I wasn't disappointed. The beer was awful. Still the location is nice and you take it as you find it.

Visited September 2011 Saturday Lunchtime

It is what it is, a pier bar catering for the many numbers, and different clientele, that drop in. We were lucky, a lovely hot day so we say outside and watched the fun go by courtesy of people watching. You don't have to write comedy, it's there in front of you at a place like Horatios. 6/10

First pub I ever went in where all the customers appeared to be related and/or married to their sisters.

I was there Sunday and despite the above, it was great fun. The weather was pretty filthy so the pier was a great place to be especially inside. Me and my mate Levi got hammered on 1664 and watched the world pass us by before getting a good feed of chips on the way out. First rate - I commend it to you all.
