I've had a trot around gillingham to find a pub that I would bring friends and family and it's not this one..rather nasty dirty and no one but a member of staff. Looked like it must have had some trouble of late...badly fitted window.. Old one had been smashed in and even with new referb it has soon got grubby.

Empty when I walked in..strange colour for a pub...no one to talk to so left...will not be going back.

The Britannia, Gillingham

Popped into this pub this week. And found it a very nice place. And very busy.(Market day) bar man was very cheeky and polite with it. Bought a guiness and the best one I have had in months. Recommended. This is a old town..with old people but they sure look after there customers. Was chatting to one old fella there and he said that the landlord and land lady would help anyone with a drop of a hat. He said that the landlady worked for the ambulance service and worked really hard. Where does she find the time. Must say it's kept clean and tidy. Ok the furniture a little old. But hay ho at least it's still open. Over all a nice place to drink and warm and welcoming. Will call in again.
