As a building it is a lovely round fronted pub which is in a good location in terms of public transport. It would be an ideal spot for people returning from work via the train the pop in for a pint on their stroll home through Gillingham. However, the pub is completely ruined by the current clientele who obviously spend all day in there blowing their benefit money and destroying the place. What a shame. browntownlad - 15 Apr 2011 14:10 |
A no no. Wally22 - 4 Apr 2011 22:21 |
I have used this pub for over 10 years as a drinking place before matches at Gillingham and always found it fine the beer is well kept ok no ales but you dont get too much camra style boozers in upper gillingham the prices are decent the landlord friendly and service good the regulars look rough and ready butas I have got to know fair few they are fine and can have a laugh its good natured banter at the bar and a lot more down to earth than the usual run of the mill souless bars that you get say in rochester which is sadly now stuck up its own anus and you pay more for crap beer too!! so dont knock it until given it a proper chance at least its a real working manspub. mintyfc - 18 Feb 2010 11:46 |
A rough and noisy pub. Cream walls and a hostile atmosphere are not the most appealing of features in a pub phonak - 17 Jan 2010 17:33 |
Large blank locals pub. Looks more interesting and inviting from the outside than the reality of the inside. And, to be honest, the outside looks tired enough. There's nothing hugely wrong with the place except that it simply exists in a big lump without making any kind of effort. Old fashioned and passed it. SilkTork - 13 Mar 2009 18:45 |
