Great fish and chips if you don't mind the bun fight, boring beer choice, otter bitter or otter ale!!! whats that all about could come out of the same barrell.

Nice pub, to many beers on offer for what they sell, the chef writes a better menu than he cooks, hedgehog roasted in banana leaves with fennel type of food.

Not a pub, cafe with local beer, food not bad but should be better.

Good beer, good food, BUT MY GOD ARE THEY SLOW!!! They don't need to be busy, you can be the only one there but be prepared to wait, and wait.
On a quite lunchtime I've waited over an hour for a baguette.

The Pilchard Inn, Burgh Island
This used to be a favorite haunt of mine but I wouldn't bother any more, must have the rudest staff of any pub in the UK, if your not a local (and I am) or a resident of the hotel then don't bother, get insulted elsewhere.

The California Country Inn, Modbury
Driven by for years without going in, bang opposite a petrol station it's not the prettiest of pubs, well worth a stop good food (very good) and good beer!

Nowhere better to sit and enjoy a pint, beer choice a bit dull, food not bad for touristy pub, bit pricey but it's going to be in Salcombe.

New owners seem to be trying hard, beer and food have always been goo on my visits.

Hope and Anchor Inn, Hope Cove
Food is very hit and miss, beer normally good, very busy summer months, grumpy landlord,

Cracking pub, good food and beer, but a grumpy landlady from hell, almost faulty towers.

The Kings Arms Hotel, Kingsbridge
Should be great when it reopens, taken over by small local brewry.

The Creeks End Inn, Kingsbridge
Busy buzzing pub, can be roudy on a friday night, Abbott ale usually good. Food more bulk than fine dinning.

The Crabshell Inn, Kingsbridge
Was a very run down pub that the owners seemed to have lost intrest in (or not a clue on how to run a pub, now under new owners, looks like it's on the up and up. well worth a visit now.

Great pub, used to sell the best London Pride but sadly no more, still worth a trip.

The Mole Trap, Stapleford Tawney
I've seen them turn people away at 2.30 on a sturday afternoon so check when there open if your making the effort to go. I think they have to many beers on for the amount they sell.

This is walking distance for me, never bother now, rude bar staff and warm beer, food still ok though.

The Merry Fiddlers, Fiddlers Hamlet
Pub going down hill fast, busy with builders and tv screeens, looks a right mess outside, shame.
28 Jul 2010 14:53
Great pub with good beer, (though the beer can be a bit warm in the summer months) No game machines and best of all no mobile phones in bar!
28 Jul 2010 14:50
Great pub but beers going down hill fast, when it's good it's very good but half the time it's IPA and Bass only. Foods good value, great sunday roast.
