Latest reincarnation is as The Elmbridge Arms. Haven't visited yet.

Lovely old-fashioned pub near the centre of Mansfield. Ideal for away fans. They had Dukeries Pale Ale, Nevermore stout and another stronger ale on when we went. Also real Scrumpy on tap (7.3%). Excellent homemade food available for £5.95. We had cheese & onion pie, game pie, chicken & leek pie and chilli. All served with hand-cut chips and mushy peas. The front bar is set up like a café. Friendly service throughout.

The Teddington Arms, Teddington
Went there on a Friday evening - bore no resemblance to the previous reviews. Rammed with young professionals, most of whom were there to eat. Excellent selection of ales: TEA, Redhead, Truman Swift and another 1 or 2. Friendly and efficient service. Would definitely return when in the Teddington area.

Lovely old-fashioned pub off the beaten track. Contains several snug bars. Excellent choice of ale.

Looks like it has been newly refurbished although they didn't bother with the toilets. Large screen for football with box of toys beneath it? Only had one ale on (Hobgoblin). Went there for Saturday lunch but only food available was pizzas and these weren't very good. Ideally situated for away end at York City.

Great little pub. Serving Pride and Bombardier when I visited. Good, friendly service and far less busy than its neighbours.

This is the pub located in the recently refurbished Montgomery Hotel. We spent a thoroughly enjoyable Saturday lunchtime there. Excellent beer including Black Sheep and Moonshine. Very good inexpensive food - I went for the fish and chips served with mushy peas and curry sauce. Live football available as required. As we spent the weekend in Sheffield, I can also recommend the hotel. Ideal for visitors to Bramall Lane.

Traditional friendly pub serving good beer. Cosy place with several snugs to congregate in. We went on a Saturday night when there was a decent band playing a range of covers.

Absolute gem of a place incongruously located up a small side-road with a view of a rusting railway bridge. Diverse mix of people and ages. Impressive range of ales from small breweries, I sampled Atlas and Easy Rider which were both great. They also have a guest scrumpy. As visitors from the south of England for the weekend, can't begin to tell you how friendly this place is but started to realise that this was probably normal for Sheffield.

Excellent traditional pub situated on the Grand Union canal. At least four ales on when I visited including Hobgoblin and Henry's IPA. Informally split into two bars, one showing rugby and the other football when I was there. Pool table and darts available.

As its name suggests, this place is directly opposite the British Museum. Small traditional narrow bar serving excellent selection of well kept ales: Doombar, Explorer, Gold, Landlord etc. The ones I tried were 3.20. Friendly efficient service. Small amount of seating outside on pavement in summer.

The Northcote, Clapham Junction
Went there Saturday evening to watch live football but they were showing Scotland versus Australia rugby instead which clearly suited the clientele better. Didn't stay.

Went there on Nov 21 to watch Man Utd vs Everton game. They do show live football which appears to be fairly unusual around there. Pub is OK but virtually empty and only Courage Best on tap.

Can't see why this place has such a low rating. Went there on Saturday lunchtime and again late evening. Friendly service and decent range of beers: Landlord, Bombardier, Pride and one other I can't recall. Lots of screens if you want to watch the football but plenty of seating if you want to get away from it. Had lunch there which was also decent. Not at all busy so it seems I am in the minority.

The Carpenters Arms, Marble Arch
Lovely little boozer tucked away behind Marble Arch tube. Several real ales to choose from at very reasonable prices including Sussex, TEA and Adnams Bitter. Sky Sports available but not allowed to take over.

This is now, as already pointed out, the Revolution Bar. Perfectly aligned tables where perfectly dressed punters sip their colourful brews while a DJ twiddles away in the background. 11 for a dazzling array of six shots, which was nice.

Absurd place. Went there early evening, it was fine. Dingy downstairs bar with decent music and decent beer: Castletown and Pride. At 6pm, where we were sitting transformed into a prohibited eating area and the music went up 10 times in volume. We moved upstairs but that is also eating only with no bar. Instead, they have turned the upstairs bar into an open kitchen where you can see your food being deep fried. Nice! At 6.50 some friends went to buy a round and returned and 7.10. Unbelievable! Reason: "there was only one person serving". Left shortly afterwards never to return. Whoever came up with this business model needs to find a new career.

The British Volunteer, Weybridge
Excellent pub. Split into 3 open plan sections: front bar, pool area and leather arm chair area with books. Friendly service and good beer - Bombadier, Landlord and Abbott. Usual absurb Weybridge prices.

The Wheatsheaf on the Green, Esher
Nothing to write home about but a decent enough pub all the same. Totally unpretentious. Plenty of room to sit down and have a chat. Friendly service.

Went there early Monday evening so fairly quite. Good looking place in a wooded location a stone's throw from the station. Inflated Weybridge prices apply: 3.95 for a pint of Peroni and 3.05 for a pint of St Austell. Also serving Young's Special and Ordinary. Menu looked inviting but didn't eat.

Went there on a Friday night and would recommend it. Friendly service, good atmosphere and a lovely pint of TEA. 5 minutes walk from the station.

More a restaurant than a pub. Lovely place to sit outside on a sunny day but get there early because it gets mobbed. Aimed at the Weybridge Set so expensive.
12 Feb 2008 13:14
The ultimate local. Good pint of ordinary served with a smile. Average age about 60. Sky Sports discreetly available on a small TV if you want it.
12 Feb 2008 13:12
Went there on a Saturday lunchtime to watch football and grab a bite to eat. Not much room to sit down but decent beer, friendly service and good bog-standard fayre.
12 Feb 2008 13:09
Went there early evening for a swift few. Well kept beer and good ambience. You can eat or just drink, nobody cares. Sat next to someone with a tuba, which was nice.

The Plough And Harrow, Warfield
Popped in for a couple before going to the Spice Lounge to eat. They had Abbot Reserve, IPA Reserve, Robin's Nest and a couple of boxes of cider available. By 8:30pm the place was packed but strangely only one person serving at the bar. Most people appeared to be there to eat.
