It's pleasant enough, but Phew! it's expensive. Went there this week with a friend and one "glass of dry white wine" and a pint of Peroni cost over £11.00! That would keep if from being my regular pub! (Rating unchanged: 6/10) HenPen - 7 Jun 2013 22:46 |
I quite like this place, even though the beer is really expensive 3.80 for a pint of ale. Certainly not the best pub in Cambridge but it's well kept and has decent ales on. Also, they do really nice pork scratchings! lovethypub - 19 Jun 2012 17:41 |
What an appalling experience. The service was curt and abrupt with the staff acting like some form of demi-gods in their private space. Couldn't care less about the customers who had the temerity to interfere with their gossiping. Waited 5 minutes (at least) to be served in a quarter full bar. The girl who served me didn't even speak. A quick glance whilst chatting to one of her friends with the conversation continuing whilst pouring our drinks. God awful beer, didn't even try the food (a person next to me had some concoction which looked like they had drained the nearby river). Avoid at all costs. sophiecloudsley - 3 Apr 2011 18:06 |
As out-of-town visitors in Cambridge staying in a nearby ****hotel, we found the Old Spring near the boat houses on the River Cam while touring the city on foot. The pub is quite large and roomy and was frequented by many well-behaved guests who were all having a good time. We managed to find a nice table in spite of the fact that the pub was very busy. The beer, food and service were excellent. JohnPeckfort - 19 May 2010 00:03 |
This place makes me shudder! mega busy, mega expensive for crap beer and populated by the worst type of Cambridge resident - the upper-middle-class obnoxious types from the nearby DeFreville estate. Steer clear! thaymouse - 3 Apr 2010 19:43 |
