This was the last and best of 10 Surrey pubs we tried between Christmas and New Year. Unlike many other pubs, it was really busy with a lively crowd. There is a large dining area at the rear and a number of different drinking areas at the front of the pub. One room appeared to be hosting a private party. Ales on were Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter, Hogs Back TEA, Surrey Hills Shere Drop & Twickenham Winter Star. blue_scrumpy - 2 Feb 2018 19:58 |
This is more like it, busy for evening restaurant food, but the bar has a selection of 4 pumps - Sambrooks Wandle 3.8, Twickenham Autumn Red 4.4 Surrey Hill Shere Drop EXCELLENT and only 3.90 which for Esher is a good price, and regrettably, Sharps Doombar. Bar needed a wipe down, but staff friendly and topped up the slightly short measure in my pint. Now that the Albert seems permanently closed, this is the best in the manor. Open after full refurb. Pleasant enough, busy in a town with only 2 pubs. 4 pumps working on a Thursday. Surrey hills shere drop in good condition. TonyMitch - 8 Sep 2016 22:28 |

We just had lunch at the Wheatsheaf on Esher Green Now I do love a Roast and am told I do a pretty mean one myself. Pub food is usually (take your life in your hands territory) rarely do they live up to expectation. Well I have to tell you, that our lunch - Roast Beef and Lamb Beef - absolutely perfectectly cooked to my taste. Lamb - Well presented and cooked to perfection. Most importantly, Veg - al-dente as they should be. and Roast Potatoes - just right. Thank you Harry and co ..... You made a great day - even better ................ smartwebs - 14 Oct 2012 19:24 |
