Great pub! Excellent service, fantastic food, incredible atmosphere, and a good selection of well kept beer all combine to make a memorable visit everytime. Well worth the trip all the way out there!

The Green Man, Great Wymondley
A great pub to go to if you are going to eat, as the food is of a good standard and the restaurant has the best views any pub in the area could have. It's well worth the trip for that, go and see for yourself! For any other reason you maybe dissapointed as the pub's focus is on the restaurant.

Sadly let down by some really miserable staff and some very sad food. It's only saving grace is the good fun music quiz night every first Thursday of every month. Wouldn't go there for any other reason.

Nice enough pub if you're ever in the area. The food is good and the staff are friendly enough. My only complaint is the lack of range of real ales. Apart from that a well worth while pub to visit.

The large screen T.V is a little intrusive, especially when it's quiet. But when it's lively it's a got a good sociable atmosphere. Not the biggest range of real ales, but the lagers are all cold enough.

I really like this pub. I started going because I thought I'd give the comedy night a go, and haven't regretted in the slightest. The atmosphere is relaxed, the beers are kept and served particularly well, and the food is of a decent standard and not over priced. Everything you need and want in a pub really. Would and have recommended plenty of times.

One of my all time favourite pubs - ever! Great location, truly amazing food(but get there early to avoid disappointment) plenty of very well kept Adnams throughout the extensive bar. Fantastic to go to anytime of the year - especially as the welcome you get is always so friendly. Great for all the family or for anyone wanting to impress the other half! Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

One of my favourite pubs to visit in Southwold. Great all year round, but comes alive in the winter months when the atmosphere becomes very cosy. Beers kept superbly - which you should expect with the Adnams brewery just around the corner! Have recommended the place to everyone.

Make sure you have taken out a bank loan before you go here! I think if it isn't Ware's most expensive, it's got to be up there in the top three! Nice in the summer to be able to sit outside by the river, but lack of range of beers (it is a MacMullens pub after all!) and the cost of even the soft drinks puts this one near the bottom of my favourite pubs in Ware list.

The reason I like this pub is because you can go in and disappear from the high street completely! It's much better in the winter time with the real log fire and a great cosy atmosphere. The beers are alright, but nothing to shout about. Wins all round on the ambience with such a fascinating history.

I was recommended this pub by another BITE user and I have to say it was one of the best bits of advice I have ever been given! What a great pub, great beers, friendly, helpful, and polite staff - they've even got jars of cockles as a bar snack (one of my favourites)Cant rate this pub highly enough - well worth a trip anytime of the day.

Great pub with very well kept Stella on tap. Always a good atmosphere with friendly staff. Well worth a visit, especially as The John Gilpin just down the road is the complete opposite!

George & Dragon, Watton at Stone
Above averae pub with an unfortunately small selection of decent beer. I thought the food was fairly good though, about average prices for what it is. Good in the winter with the log fire.

The best G & T for miles around! Not sure why it tastes so good there, but it just does! Nice location too. Better in the summer though. Sometimes unfriendly bar staff, but good the rest of the time.

A great winter pub this one. Sit by the open log fire drinking a bloody mary while the rain pours down outside! Not so appealing in the summer though. Food's quite cheap too.

Great pub, full of great beer, and great people, which makes a great atmosphere! Shame about the drinking in the castle grounds ban, that used to really finish a hot summer's Friday night out. Still worth a visit though.

The Old Cross Tavern, Hertford
One of my favourites! Always friendly staff serving a decent, very well kept, selection of real ales. I think the small size helps to keep the friendly atmosphere. The beer festival's always worth checking out, as long as you get there early! Especially like the no big screen, no music (except the live stuff on the odd occasion) and no disco!

I agree with the other comments. The beer is still a good selection and the location is still great, but this is let down by the staff having little real ale knowledge and the prices being through the roof! I'm still persevering only really because there aren't that many others around with the same level of choice. The beer festivals still a winner though.

Alan is the landlord, and keeping decent beer incredibly well is his game. Without fail there is always at least 10 different beers on, all of which are Alan's personal selection. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the bar food and sunday roast are a must. A definite reccomendation!

The Plume of Feathers, Little Wymondley
