Is this really a free-house? Any choice of beer you want......... and what is on the bar? Greene King IPA. No, I am not joking. Worse still was the barman (I'm not sure if he was the landlord) who hardly said a word. Was more interested in his mobile phone than serving customers. Should you want to try this place for yourself and maybe only want half a pint, ask for a pint, because half is all you will get. He consistently serves short measures. Avoid. fugglehops - 12 Apr 2012 22:08 |
Affectionately known as "The Oak", this is a great little boozer just far enough away from the town centre to avoid trouble. Pub grub at lunchtimes and a great breakfast on Saturdays! SKY Sports including Premiership Plus (real bonus), jukebox, pool table, dart board and very reasonable prices as it is a family-run freehouse. Carpark at the rear and a beer garden - it has everything including a great atmosphere thanks to the very regular regulars! They certainly made me feel welcome - Well done Lads! anonymous - 7 Sep 2006 11:34 |

Great pub with very well kept Stella on tap. Always a good atmosphere with friendly staff. Well worth a visit, especially as The John Gilpin just down the road is the complete opposite! Keir - 27 Jul 2005 23:03 |
