Bloody Hell,
this all smacks of a conspiracy by ex-staff or barred customers. I'm pretty fussy about pubs, but I went in here on Tuesday with a friend, and found it to be an honest regular pub.
Maybe not a date pub, nor an eating pub, but if you want a pint and a packet of s&v, then it's pretty good.
A touch of character in the east end.
And no, I didn't ask for a glass of water, but if I did I would have expected one for free.

Certainly better than other sites in Clapham. So I believe.
Food & drink are of a good standard. It's the best branded offer around.
Consistently solid service.

Having read the reviews, I was keen to visit recently after not having been back to Molesey for 15 years. I wasn't disappointed, the place had a quirky charm, and still had the friendly locals supping their beer with the dog sat by their side.
Rose tinted memories, I know, but still well worth a visit. The sloping walls are a sight to see....

For those of you who are ignorant, good Guinness is dictated by the following.
A clean line.
A clean glass.
An efficient remote or flash cooler.
The keg being sold within 3 or 4 days from opening.
The keg being "in date".
Quick sales, i.e. not sitting in the line for long.
The right gas supply.
This place sells good Guinness. I know.

a very nice pub under new ownership. Found the outside garden brilliant in the sun, and the range of beers and food made the afternoon pass quickly!
That's not even mentioning the staff, who were great.

Visited last Saturday night. After years away from Tooting. Was genuinely scared to see how a fairly good pub had declined.
I had one of the best pints of Speckled Hen available in years. I know it's a rough end of town, but the beer was worth the visit. Just be aware it's south of the river, and relax.
Also worth the visit for the cracking curry had 5 mins up the road.

I found it quite different to some of the average ratings. Had one or two cracking nights there. Quiet, but really smart early in the week. Busy and music led at weekends.

I was the person pretending to be the manager. I wasn't. In fact I don't even work there. The manager is rather friendly, and a much nicer and more approachable person than me.
I apologise to "anonymous".

Apparently the manager has a penchant for Mr Jack. Probably the best student pub in canterbury.

The Florence Tavern, Islington
I thjought the new thai menu was amazing, and the feel of the place was really good. It managed to cross the divide between a homely local and a cool bar. Spent my time in the upstairs bar watching the football on the big screen munching prawn crackers that actually tasted of prawns not sawdust.

St Christopher's Inn, Borough
Just come in to have a reasonably priced drink served with a beaming smile. Nice old fashioned classic pub with a great range of foreign beers.
Thank God it is more expensive than a Spoons. Keeps the riff-raff out.
