Shame thsi pub has gone down hill, in the winter its very cold the fire place does not work, the cellar is too cold for bitter. Beer quality is variable and very expensive for this area. Most of the locals no longer use it. Great shame.

Big pub with large bar area. Menu is varied and not expensive. Beer is Ok, real ale needs some work.
overall good value edge of town pub with good parking and rear garden is nice if the sun is up!

The Elephant and Castle, Bloxham
Old style beer drinkers local. Good atmosphere if you like a joke and don't mind basic facilities.
Beer is good and is good value. Take your wife into the lounge. The bar is for the lads and thier girls.

The Duck On The Pond, South Newington
Nice clean pub with a good choice of ales. One of the best pints of Hooky you will find. Food on the expensive side but good quality. Nice location with garden and pond. They play aunt sally on a thurday night in the summer.

Good local and freindly crowd on a Friday night otherwise very quiet. Beer is expensive and inconsistent in quality. landlord is a nice guy however he couldn't run a race never mind a pub.

This pub has new people in charge, young couple with loads of energy. good menu with big portions.
Nice beer and nice atmoshpere. Forget all previous comments.

This is one to pass by, unless of course you like the police, you will find them inside and out over a weekend. Its cheap and a good place to get into a fight!

The Duck On The Pond, South Newington
Cathy and Dave run this pub very well and serve one of the best pints of Hookey
you will find. I was there with my friends on new years eve, good food, disco and a fantastic fireworks display at midnight.
Don't drive past you will miss a very good pub.
