The General's Arms, Little Baddow

this is another one of those village pubs that the staff feel that they are more important than the customers!!!! very very rude staff and the food was nothing to write home about at all! will defo not be going back to this one, food cooked from frozen and still solid ice in the middle of the fish! The chicken on my husbands plate STILL had running blood! When we first walked in and the bar staff saw we had two children with us, at 7pm i might add, they just looked at us in horror! never ever again!

The Cricketers Arms, Danbury

we went into the cricketers the other night, i ordered the chicken curry as recommended by Butchegg, it was NOT very nice at all. The rice was sticky and not fluffy at all, the chicken tasted like it had been cooked before the sauce was added and the whole meal tasted like it was cooked from frozen! the four of us were very very dissapointed with our meal. The actual venue was nice, couldnt really park the range rover outside cause the car park was soooooo very small, we parked up the road, which was not good as it was dark, VERY dark on the country roads there and lots of speading cars roaring up the lanes, i was worried for the children with us and for the children in another group in front of us that just got out of the way of one of those speading cars! this is one of those pubs we would visit again, but maybe in the summer, when its lighter later and when we can order a salad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Griffin, Danbury

By far the most friendliest pub in the village and the food is fantastic!! The staff were great at greating when we arrived, they took the order as fast as we could give it to them and they really made us feel welcome!! The staff took the time to make the children feel welcome and to take the time to talk to them too. Best place for families in the village and well worth popping in to see the menu.......mmmmmmm The best sunday lunch we have had in a long time x thanks to the bar manager Kim who made us feel very welcome.

The Bell, Danbury

Just moved into Danbury so i thought that my partner and i would try a couple of the locals over a two week period, in the hope to meet new friends etc. We went into the Bell on Friday 13th March 2009.

I wish we had not bothered. We ordered food, it was old and not at all tasty, we asked the bar person to exchange it becuase it didnt taste good, but we were told the food was best quality and we should try eating in the other pubs in Danbury if we thought their food was bad!! I told the staff member that we had eaten in a few of the other pubs around the village and that the food in the Bell was the worst we had had so far!!!!!

This is by far, the worst of the villages pubs. Rude staff and over the top full of chavs and builders swearing and smoking by the front door. This is NOT a family pub in any way whatsoever! entre at your own risk!!
