| The Cricketers Arms has not been reviewed for some years, it is now a friendy local pub with good, well kept Shepherd Neame beer. The menu consists of regular pub food, but there is also an ever changing Specials Board which lists at least 6 seasonal dishes (always delicious). The Chef is inventive, serving excellent home cooked pies and fresh fish. The pub has several small intimate rooms and a fair sized restaurant area, a garden at the side and rear offers a safe environment for children and outdoor eating as do the tables in front of the pub. | Further to my last visit, things seem to have changed already. A new manager appears to be in post with more emphasis on the food. Menu much the same but a more professional approach. Between us we had the scampi and the Salmon. A most enjoyable meal - advised to order asap as a party of 10 were arriving. My wife likes it because she says it's cosy. | we went into the cricketers the other night, i ordered the chicken curry as recommended by Butchegg, it was NOT very nice at all. The rice was sticky and not fluffy at all, the chicken tasted like it had been cooked before the sauce was added and the whole meal tasted like it was cooked from frozen! the four of us were very very dissapointed with our meal. The actual venue was nice, couldnt really park the range rover outside cause the car park was soooooo very small, we parked up the road, which was not good as it was dark, VERY dark on the country roads there and lots of speading cars roaring up the lanes, i was worried for the children with us and for the children in another group in front of us that just got out of the way of one of those speading cars! this is one of those pubs we would visit again, but maybe in the summer, when its lighter later and when we can order a salad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | Visited this pub last night with the family. Small car park but some parking on the road. Nice and warm with various smallish rooms - perfect for an more intimate evening. There is a larger dining area on the far left for those larger parties. The beer is mainly Shepherd Neame and very nice it was too. A friendly welcome from the guvnor who seemed to appreciate someone who liked his beer. Food was good. We had a chicken curry, cottage pie and a pasta dish from the specials board, all about �7 each. Noticed a particularly nice sausage and mash dish on another table which looked particularly impressive. Not the largest meals we've had locally but the choice also included burgers, a pie and various other tasty choices. All finished off with a limited range of desserts from �3.50.
