Grand Central, Brighton

Ohhh dear..... I really dislike this place. The atmosphere is terrible. Never seen so much agro in a 'trendy' pub. They play banging D'N'B at 4 in the afternoon! Have several friends that have had coats and bags stollen from there table. Too many office crowds come in here so there are lots of big groups bashing into each other. Also you 20 something estate agent types acting like tools. Really wish i could say something good as i have been in quite a few times (it's near work) but cant. Oh one thing the roof terrace is ok in the summer.

The Fortune of War, Brighton

Open late, by the beach, very expensive, gets far too crowded. On the whole a funny old place really only worth a look on a sunny weekend

The Font and Firkin, Brighton

Has turned into a bit of a pre-club stop off for people that frequent West Street *shudder*. It did used to be a nice enough place, but in there attempt to move it up market, the clientelle have gone down market. When will people learn that coloured lights, sheets and jugs of cocktails dont nessaceraly make a pub better? Maybe i'm just getting old (24)

The Fiddlers Elbow, Brighton

A decent pub. Spent a new years eve here and at the stroke of midnight i threw my hands up and knocked an antique shotgun of it mount and on to my head! The rest of the year followed suite but i digress. Difficult to get a seat a lot of the time, but if you can it's a nice enough place for a drink or eight

The Evening Star, Brighton

Legend in it's own lunchtime. Gets a lot of kudos from 'real' beer and ale drinkers. Unfortunately im not one of them, but i take my hat off to the pub for cornering that increasingly small market. Would definately go in again for a pint of some ale i'd never heard of. Bit small inside though and apparantly gets very busy on the weekends.

The Eddy, Brighton

The staff are alright without being friendly, it gets really packed on the weekends and there is a general feeling of agro in there with large groups of ape like men weighing everyone up. Also if you go in with a lady friend she will get hit on a lot even if she's obviously with someone, which give a special 'am i going to have to do something about this if they don't back off' atmosphere. Lovely

The Dover Castle, Brighton

Have been here a few times and i really dont like it. The atmosphere in the evenings is that of pretention and trust fund babies (though that could simply be because it's in Hanover) and i went for a sunday roast there, which i had been told good things about, but it was awful. The meat was lamb or pork (couldnt tell you)and all fat, the roasts were 'aunt bessies' and the veg was confusing! (rocket and red cabbage i think?!) will never be going back. Would be ok for a quick pint.

The Cricketers, Brighton

Down stairs is very traditional, but always packed out. Some people i know like the upstairs, but to me it feels like having a pint in a hospice. They do hire it out for partys though (70th birthdays i'd imagine)

The Crescent, Brighton

An alright local boozer. A friend of mine used to work here so i used to pop in fairly regularly. I dont any longer, but will occasionally go in if im strolling past or want a change of scene. Very nice beer garden for the summer.

The Caxton Arms, Brighton

Oh the Caxton. How many hours have i spent in here, how much of my wage have i spent here. Great pub. The new owners are friendly and a good laugh, the pool table is useable again (it was Zebra print for a while?!) and the bar staff are lovely, friendly guys, friendly and beautiful women. What more could you ask for? On second thoughts, it's rubbish, never go there, keep away from my pub!

The Brighton Tavern, Brighton

Used to go here when i was 16 as it served me! Not been in much reciently, partly because it is now a gay place and i like the chance of meeting women in pubs, and partly because i go to other pubs now! But i'd say it's a nice little pub and well worth a visit.

The Black Lion, Brighton

An ok pub. A little bit agro on the weekends and not a great atmosphere. The beer 'garden' is like having a pint in an alleyway behind a woolworths.

The West Hill, Brighton

Great pub. I have never had anything but a great night in here. It's open late on the weekends and has a nice atmosphere. Staff are friendly but not imposing so it dosn't feel like a 'local' which is fine by me! Prices are normal centre of Brighton prices (i.e. 3.00 a pint) but you get used to that in Brighton!

The Battle of Trafalgar, Brighton

Bit grim inside but a great beer garden for the summer. They have a nautical bell that you can ring if you give them money for charity. Great way to empty the pub if you so wish! Very good food so a good lunch time pub.

The Bath Arms, Brighton

It's ok. Thats about as descriptive as i can get for this place. Lack of larger tables make it difficult if you have more than 2 friends (id imagine). Just feels a little soul-less to me im afraid. Nothing to bad about it, just nothing too good either. The bloke from the 'fast show' drinks there some times if you want to stalk him up

Atlas Lounge, Brighton

Nice enough. Not really as classy as it likes to make out, had a feeling of a place where pikeys take there 17 year old girlfriends as a birthday treat. Have heard some good live music there though and impressesd my 17 year old pikey girlfriend
