Another fantastic visit, great beers, 4 real ales including Charnwood brewery Vixen and Blue fox, plus lots more.. knowledgable staff, amazing food and the most rural garden setting...

Don't really know the history about this pub, but I think it is pretty good... Both front and back gardens were full on a Bank Holiday Easter Monday, and food looked both interesting and well priced. Can't comment on the lager, but serves Belvoir brewery ales and also the king of ciders (Symonds Founders Reserve). Only around 5 or 6 miles from Barrow upon Soar, so definitely one I will return to... Not sure about Oxybrigs comments... Belvoir beers are certainly real ale and as for not being a locals pub, there cant be more than 50 people or so live in West Leake, so certainly don't blame landlord for aiming at food trade.

Pleasant enough but certainly not a real ale pub. If you like lager at almost £4.00 per pint then this is for you perhaps. If not, then you can have a bowl of peanuts for almost £2.00. As far from being a village local as you can get. If you like that sort of thing. The staff are polite and well mannered and the place is clean and well organised.

Four real ales on, but I'm afraid I don't like the way its been refurbished. Lost all its charm.

Recently re-opened this pub has been transformed - all for the better. Rooms have been knocked through to create a large bar area with a good selection of beers, lagers and wines. Food is available- and looked good. Hopefully after a chequered recent past which has seen many tenants come and go, the Pit House is back for good.
