The pub was stopped, by the police, from selling takeaway beer recently - during lockdown. Like a couple of other local establishments - due (apparently) to tables and chairs, arriving on scene. tradervic - 2 Jun 2020 22:16 |
One of the best real pubs in Harrogate. A fine selection of impeccably kept real ale. Unfortunately they now appear to allow dogs and children. Not a fan of smelly muts when I'm trying to enjoy a pie and a pint. Karlos43 - 2 Jan 2020 16:24 |
A true British pub. Highly recommended by PC Jones. 6 local, hand drawn ales, cheaper than The Alexandra of last night. Pork pie and mushy peas with mint sauce, BRILLIANT! Its the only thing on the menu tonight. I like that idea for a pub. "This is what we have. Enjoy!" All food proceeds go to Martin House children's hospice. Pint of Copper Dragon Golden Pippin 3.9% typical blonde ale, but very good for the type. Timothy Taylor Landlord 4.3% bitter, creamy with a very nice hoppy finish, a new favorite. I'm tempted to go back tomorrow, but I'm afraid of missing another gem. tcondel - 16 Nov 2011 17:27 |
Visited on a busy Friday night and found this to be a decent place to enjoy a drink. There was a reasonable choice of real ales on the bar, the Daleside being in good order, and served by friendly staff. The locals were all friendly and provided a good atmosphere. There was nothing particularly special about this place, but on the hand, nothing at all wrong with it either - certainly worth walking slightly out of town to visit if you find yourself in Harrrogate. A proper pub with a good selection of local ales. Took some former colleagues along here recently and it was given a unanimous thumbs up. Recommended. dalesman1000 - 24 Dec 2010 14:48 |
