I walked in and some fella was singing please release me, he was amazing and if anyone knows him I wanna sign him up to my record label, but out of nowhere the landlady came out and started punching him! Add that to the anti Semitic Welshman and you've got great entertainment :) barmaids are lovely definately worth a look (except for the fat one). Only downside of the night was some boring geezer with a ponytail sent me to sleep, and I couldn't get a stool coz some fella needed 3 of them to sit down Cmc111 - 6 May 2013 15:54 |
Not too bad but a bit modern inside. No character to the place. The landlady was nice and friendly and quick to serve. Noticed a photo of the great Pat Jennings on the wall but sadly it was in an arse-nal shirt. Oh dear. nickthefish - 19 Sep 2009 08:06 |
Great pub. I'm a local and along with the griffin this is the best pub in Whetstone. All the others are a bit soulless. Irish bar staff are good fun, and I always get into good conversation when I go here. Southern28 - 15 May 2009 14:56 |
I used to go to this pub before the refurb, and it was nice and cosy then but the staff were horrible and I never wanted to stay long. It's changed since the refurb, a lot bigger and spacious but it's still nice. The bar staff are great now, really friendly. It's great for watching sport on match days. The food is tasty as well, definitely a pub that I go to when i'm in Whetstone. Londonernorf - 26 Mar 2009 12:52 |
I quite liked this - small and cosy interior with a good local's feel on the weekday afternoon I visited. Two or three real ales and very friendly service from the Australian barman. In an area which appears to lack many other pubs, this is a decent enough place. grecian - 2 Jan 2009 11:16 |
