First visit to Hereford and this was the 3rd pub I frequented during the day. As i was in town for the football i meet a couple of pals who had kids with them so this place and it's garden area was perfect. the pub itself is large and fairly soulless but it served a purpose for me and my pals so nothing to complain about. 2 ales on draught of which i had a couple of pints of Wye Valley bitter and it was kept just fine. Cannot comment on the food, the garden area and other punters were fine. lezford - 24 May 2012 13:26 |
I COMPLAINED ABOUT A MEMBER OF STAFF WHOSE ATTITUDE TO ME ASKING HER POLITELY TO FILL MY GLASS AS IT WAS JUST OVER HALF FULL (LARGE LATTE) WAS NOT PROFFESSIONAL. THE MANAGER WAS VERY RUDE AND CAME OUT TO THE OUTSIDE AREA WHERE I WAS SAT WITH A FRIEND AND WAS VERY LOUD AND AGGRESSIVE. I HOW EVER AM PLEASED TO SAY REMAINED CALM AND POLITE. WHAT I PITY HE COULD NOT JUST SAY SORRY, OH WELL, PLENTY OF OTHER PLACES IN HEREFORD TO HAVE MY PARTY, LIKE THE MERTON HOTEL. pinkcandy - 26 Aug 2010 16:13 |

Huge city centre pub well and truly "on the circuit" but large enough to cope with the crowds. Very attractive outdoor area as well. The cask beers (sometimes Wye Valley, sometimes just Bombardire) are surprisingly well kept. JimmyRibble - 2 Feb 2010 17:35 |
Been away for five years and revisiting Hfd pubs. The Imperial still hasn't changed. Siulless, crap pub full of middle aged circuit drinkers. In answer to people comments on my opinions. they are mine, and are honest. I don;t slag off every pub and am looking for improvements. For instance. the Exchange has improved 100% in the time I have been away, The Lich has alos,, The barrels is one of the best pubs in the country and even Manhattans is almost good, while The Imp, despite a facelift is still exactly the same - crap. jimbosmith - 24 Nov 2009 10:49 |
