| Friendly local that paled a little bit into insignificance on this trip as its fellow North Brink pub the Rose Tavern was running a beer festival. | Excellent pub on the North Brink in Wisbech. Had Elgoods Cambridge Bitter plus 'Paw x 4 100m' - the latter although an appalling pun was a great pint, light and hoppy and very easy to drink. As the name suggests, Olympics related so drink it while you can. Landlady and team were very friendly and chatty to us on what was our first visit to the pub. Food was reasonably priced and presentable. Would definitely return when in Wisbech - it is worth making the short walk across the river from the town centre to the more attractive part of Wisbech to support this pub. | The Red Lion is my pub of choice in Wisbech,there are usually four Real Ales on(what I really like!!!!)The food is very good and the staff are fantastic.It is currently being extended,so bucking the trend of pub closures. wheezy - 1 Aug 2008 06:21 |
| This pub serves 4 real ales they are always Elgoods and are Black Dog Mild 3.6% Cambridge Bitter 3.8% and two others,recently Golden Newt 4.1%,Old Wagg 4.0%,Double Swan 4.5%,Mad Dog 4.4%.They have a very good Menu.There is a car park.It is situated on the North Brink of the River Nene only about 300 yds. from the brewery, wheezy - 26 Jul 2008 14:49 |
