user reviews of the Dolphin, Royston

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A tad better on the beer choice, as well as the IPA and Abbot there was New River's Blind Poet and Sadler's Peaky Blinder.
The last two being dark malty beers.

Seemed to be male customer dominated this Saturday afternoon, combined with non-existent waitresses, gave an unrelaxed feeling.
Mixed feelings about our meals. Obviously microwaved - served within ten minutes of ordering - but was not served that hot.
Disappointed, as four previous visits have been enjoyable.

A Greedy King pub with a Flame Grill menu.
The beer is the usual uninspiring choice of Abbot and IPA. A third beer called "Dolphin" is just 90% IPA, tweeked here and there, and given the name of the pub.

I will admit that food in GK pubs are of a high standard and here is no exception.
Good choice, fair price and very enjoyable.
All staff were very polite and friendly.
A good atmosphere (Saturday lunchtime) and family friendly.

Will visit again for the food but not for the beer.

Nice friendly pub with excellent service and very nice meals. I have only visited at lunchtime and everything was very good. Beers kept well and attentive staff.

This is one of my local pubs its has a bit of a bad name for trouble probably because it is the cheapest pub in the village with IPA at 2.45 and the younger drinkers go there because it has footy on the big screen.
Having said that if you avoid friday and saturday nights it is a fair family pub.
The food is good value and what I expect to pay for in a pub.
It has the usual Green king IPA and Abbot ale which you get in almost every chain pub in this area.
