Quiet for a Saturday lunchtime, just a few local in. Three including Wickwars, BOB and one from Buntingford. Serves mainly basket meals and sandwiches/snacks. fugglehops - 7 Dec 2013 16:50 |
A really wonderful pub. Love the staff, love the food, love the atmosphere. And without a doubt, the most child-friendly pub ever!! stoi - 3 Apr 2010 17:32 |
This is my local, and it's a great pub, with friendly service and good pub food. Choice of lagers, and three ales available - currently IPA, Wherry and Plover (from Buntingford). I beg to differ with the previous reviewer regarding the barstaff, and have never been overcharged. DocSavage - 4 Feb 2010 17:42 |
June, down to 2 ales now, IPA and Wherry. Different bar staff again and we got well overcharged for a round. CambridgeBlue - 2 Jun 2008 10:20 |
My boyfriend and I went here for a Valentines meal - not really sure what to expect as we're not from the area and the Black Horse has no website. I'm happy to say we were really pleasantly suprised. The pub itself is gorgeous - really quaint and the staff are lovely. The food was exquisite - perfect portions and very reasonable. My only minor criticism is that it was quite (undeservedly) quiet - but perhaps that was because regulars didn't watch a load of loved up couples! Having said that, the layout is such that the drinkers and diners have their own space and the atmosphere adapts for both. I would definitely recommend the Black Horse for drinkers and diners alike.
