user reviews of the York Arms, Whetstone

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Plenty of drugs but they're all of poor quality, I thought they had a guard dog but it turns out that was the landlady, the toilets were the cleanest part of the pub despite the white powder on the window sills. I ordered a sandwich I didn't realise dog hair was a sandwich filling. But on the plus side I got lovely cockles and mussles from the fish stall outside

Old fashioned locals type pub and well worth the 40 mile visit. As alesonly pointed out the layout is in the traditional style. Staff were attentive and polite. The only downside was the revolting stench of cannabis floating into the bar from the passageway outside. These junkies should be shot or hung.

This pub brought back memories of my childhood, sitting in the corner of the pub with half a coke and a packet of cheese and onion. There is even a fish van in the car park Fantastic!

I had a few enjoyable games of darts with the very friendly locals and I may have just found my new local!

What a very nice Pub it has not changed at all in over thirty five years since I last went in There. The only addition I could see was a TV set apart from that it looked exactly the same as it did when use to go there regularly after work when I used to work at Standard Telephones in 1975 brilliant a real traditional Pub. The only down side is that theres only one Real Ale Best but apart from that is a good real old style Pub with separate Saloon and Public bars and with the centre bar joining both hope its never changed or altered.
