Compared to most of the other pubs in the area, pretty quiet when we visited during the fireworks. Beer was OK, not too expensive (£3.80/pint) from Tavy Ales. A reasonable choice if you like to sit down in pleasant surroundings while drinking. Trequites - 10 Aug 2017 21:58 |
Loud, boozy &bawdy when we called in last Saturday. Perhaps less so on weekdays and probably a good spot for a civilsed beer at lunchtime. Its certainly got good beers and a realism that some of its other overdeveloped neighbours lack. One of the barbicans more mature pubs perhaps . Stuee - 22 Nov 2013 02:15 |
Average kind of pub. The ale (Dartmoor Pale) was okay. anonymous - 29 Sep 2013 16:01 |
Excellent little find on a crawl. A couple of excellently kept ales, both local, one of which was surprisingly cheap. The landlord and Landlady Ian & Ros were brilliant hosts and most helpful in giving us pointers, as to where to go for ale in Plymouth. Highly recommended. uerige58 - 12 Jun 2013 20:15 |
A decent pub, offering a few well kept ales at remarkably good prices (especially for the Barbican!). Service is friendly whenever I've been in. They have a reasonable (if small) selection of decent whiskies on sale too. Can be a bit quiet at times, but always possible to strike up a conversation to while the time away. Definitely worth a visit if what you're after is a good pint. sjghr - 15 Jan 2012 18:18 |
