I visited this pub with Gill, an American lady I had met via the internet. She was a bit older than me (I was 23 at the time, she was 49) and on the large side (23 stone an counting is my rough estimation) but I was smitten. I was going to ask her to marry me. In the end, however, I got off my face on a mixture of magic mushrooms and Bailey's and threw up in her lap. So..I can't actually remember much about the pub. Last I heard from Gill was via her lawyers. I have been banned for life from visiting Texas. Ladhimself - 15 Jun 2010 15:35 |
very good pub. Karaoke on Wednesdays and the quality of some of the singers is remarkably good. Large student crowd in the evenings during term time but always a very good atmosphere. Serves LP and Spitfire as well as Old Rosie cider- all very well kept. Definately worth a visit. Suprised by the low score. NB33 - 9 Oct 2009 22:38 |
I visited early in the week and liked this pub. It wasn't too busy and most of the clientele were young and not problematic at all. I guess given the music selection it must be a student venue but as someone no longer of student age I certainly felt welcome. Nice Dutch barmaid too ! nrj746 - 3 Jun 2009 08:02 |
Shocked by the low score and the previous comment , very enjoyable the beer was good and the lady next to me was eating a generous portion of fish and chips which looked a smelt great all in all a good boozer Gunner1 - 22 Oct 2008 12:06 |
Avoid this pub at all costs. The landlord is extremely rude, after having songs skipped on the jukebox I ask for my money back he refuses and is rude about it. There was at least 10 of us in the pub buying drinks. Not really a good way to treat your customers. anonymous - 23 Sep 2007 13:02 |
