Yes, the portions are small but they're doing a third off promotion at the moment so I got ham egg and chips for less than a fiver, can't be bad! And the ham was quite thick slices and with two eggs too. But the chips were on the limp side and the waitress asked if I wanted any condiments but never returned with the mustard. One other thing - it seems the staff have stifling procedures to follow, woe betide you if you wander into the pub without checking in first! micbinks - 28 Jun 2012 18:17 |
I arranged for a party of 15 from our local MS Branch to have lunch. Could not of been happier and made to feel more welcomed. Manager and staff looked after us from beginning to end :-) Lottie1963 - 11 Apr 2012 12:14 |
I am really disgusted by the size of the portions served here. I am vegan and paid 8.99 for a soup plate with lettuce leaves, a cut up pear and crushed walnuts (main), my partners main was 7.99 - 3 cannelloni and my friends steak pie was mostly gravy with small mash and veg. We were advised to order chips as ytjhe portions were 'rather small' The eton mess was just ice cream, cream and cooli no meringue. I have written and will post reply. srix0570 - 20 Feb 2012 14:21 |
i went to the treacle mine, with my Mother and some family members on Saturday 20th November and was disgusted by the small size of the portions, eg: steak and ale pie, peas, mash and beef and ale gravy[pork pie size pie,5 pieces of meat inside,a scoop of mash,a dessert spoonful of peas and gravy in a small sauce boat, not a gravy boat],new yorker steak with chips, small,no,tiny piece of steak and 10 chips etc etc] then, sweet, have the delicious sounding caramel apple crumble i thought..... a small slither of apple crumble, with half a scoop of ice cream, served on a soup bowl. My elderly Mother was paying for the meal,as a pre-Christmas treat and she was completely ripped off by the prices she was charged for such miniscule portions,do they think they are serving hote cuisine? not in that establishment they don't have the class,or standard of chef,to carry it off. i think it is a total disgrace........... I certainly would NEVER recommend this establishment to anyone,it's very 2nd rate salseymour - 29 Nov 2010 14:48 |
this restaurant / pub is now a table table and is all the better for it . the staff are welcoming and cheerful . the beer is good and the food is good value too . there aren't many " pub regulars " because of the location but is still a nice place . 9ooner - 14 Jun 2010 23:39 |
