| For a semi posh Hotel, this place isn't too expensive for beers. There's a fantastic wooden decked blacony overhanging the river. | On a preternaturally warm Saturday afternoon in February I sat outside the Riverside on a balcony that hangs over the river Kent. | I quite like the riverside. I have been in a few times for a beer (usually when going from the Castle to the Sawyers) and the Hawkshead bitter is always well kept. never seem to be many people in, but I don't think the beer was too pricey. if you are in the area give it a try. killip_ian - 22 Jul 2009 14:05 |
| I stay at this hotel when I'm in Kendal and whilst it's a hotel bar it still has some regulars who call in. The two beers have always been very good and the service is cheerful and chatty. Not the cheapest pint in Kendal either but it's a good bar for a last one/two whilst staying here. Most hotel bars only sell overpriced fizz, so top marks to the Riverside for trying.
