I used to drive to this country pub decades ago and had heard it was in danger of closing a couple of years back. We decided to see if it was still the same, and we were shocked at the prices. £2.40 for a bottle of coke ad £1.50 for a packet of crisps!

This pub is in a lovely location right in the heart of Letchmore Heath village. Stopped by for a quick pint with a friend and enjoyed the view outside. Only two niggles - A UKIP poster is prominently displayed on one of the windows and my friends's pint glass had a big lipstick mark on it. Other than that, a good pub to go to with friends.

Nice little pub overlooking a green/common in a pleasant village. There are 2 bars and both have character. We were served by a fairly friendly chap. who struck me as a bit odd. But he was very proffessional, nevertheless. It's a Greene King pub. So only their beers were stocked - Old Golden Hen and Kimberley Bitter. Worth a visit. But shame about the beers.

We visit on and off and I've always enjoyed the beer on offer and my wife the wine selection. Lovely setting where one can wander around the local pond while pondering over the mysteries of life and who's round is it next?

I like the three horseshoes, but I don't know why.

I usually go there with my girlfriend when we are both 'working from home' and we fancy a spot of lunch. The menu is standard non-gastro-pub fare (Scampi, burgers, lasagne, sandwiches etc etc) and it is almost always not cooked very well but not so bad that you complain about it, if you see what you mean. It's reasonably priced but I'm not sure it's good value if you see what I mean. I tend to come away feeling a bit disappointed.

Having said that I always find the welcoming polite rather than effusive, it's never totally empty and it has a really nice 'proper pub' feel about it, right down to the uncomfortable bench seats.

So there you go. Definitely more than the sum of it's parts. I'll go back but perhaps pick up a sandwich on the way back
