| Called in with some friends for a (discounted) dinner. The place has lost some character since we were last there (French tenants last time?) but the current staff were very friendly and welcoming and the pub itself very warm and cosy. The food wasn't bad either. However what did suprise me was the range of beers on offer. There were 4 handpumps inc the common Courage Best and Bombardier. There other 2 were more interesting - Thwaites Wainwright and Caledonian Flying Scotsman. With the Waggon and Horses around the corner this gives Hartley Wintney a couple of good boozers. | This is a very cosy pub facing the village green and a great place for a summer's drink. Although the drinks seem very expensive I've always had a cracking pint there. The guest beers are changed regularly and are kept very well. I can't vouch for the food but there are always plenty of people eating. AndyChips - 8 Feb 2011 16:56 |
| Called in the other evening-our first visit for a couple of years.We were disappointed,there was no atmosphere (probably because there were no customers) and even though the menu remains french the gallic ambiance seems to have disappeared.
