Your average Hall & Woodhouse pub/restaurant with decent food and a decent pint. Garden is dog-friendly. Worth a visit. duckorange - 3 Sep 2012 15:47 |
Purpose built pub, built in the last 10 or 15 years or so but nicely done ,looks a lot older.Set out more as a restaurant than a pub , Hall and Woodhouse beers available were Badger best, Tanglefoot and Firkin Fox . I had the fox which was served in a branded Firkin Fox glass. I have to say I was pleasantly suprised by the quality of the beer.As a pub I have in the past only rated it 5/10 but taking beer quality into account i'm upping it to 6.Still not a place I would travel to for a drink ,but if your local its right next to morrisons supermarket so it might have it's use's when you have to go shopping. A H&W Pub, but also now my local. Beer is well kept and although not cheap it's not extortionate. Spirits are expensive. Food is also good with a wide choice - for the most part cooked fresh. Learn what to avoid! The service can lack a little when it's busy but I've found the staff to be friendly and pleasant and keen to rectify any issues that might occur. Yamesh - 2 Oct 2010 13:45 |
Good to have a H & W Pub in the area, serves some good stuff on tap and the food isn't bad. good seating outside for a nice cold beer in the british sunshine Huw628 - 23 Jun 2009 06:30 |
Most improved pub. I didnt go there anymore because they charged too much money for avarage food and the staff where always horrible. Now it's got a new landlord, lowered prices (5.99 / meal), installed kids play things in the back garden and the (mostly new staff) are really nice. And if you life locally you may even be lucky and get a free bottle of wine with vouchers that are in the local newspaper. Going back now quite often. appeland - 26 May 2009 11:23 |
