The Triton is a pub housed in a seemingly old building, but with a modern interior with little character. There was a bar area and what seemed a fairly upmarket dining area. Most people seemed to be enjoying a touch of sunshine at the tables overlooking the car park or the children's play area. Very much a family-oriented pub. The ale range was uninspiring - Timothy Taylor Landlord, Theakston Best Bitter & Great Newsome Sleck Dust. blue_scrumpy - 26 Mar 2018 21:26 |
Been looking for a pub like this for ages. Friendly, good beer, comfy, nice people. none of the dross you get hanging around some other pubs. You know your car will be safe, and they don't have mega-loud football screaming at you from every wall. Just a nice place to go. Wold top Bitter is first class and my wife loves the wines - she's working her way thru them all I think. We took here mam and Dad there last week for an anniversary and they were impressed at the service and the food - not over the top either of em, just spot on, right and it doesn't break the bank. Its a great pub in a lovely place. Very handy after a walk on the Wolds. Good beers (two Yorkshire real ales) are well kept, they dp excellent home-made food and the girls make you feel welcome. Live music sometimes too and its got a nice patio outside with big heated umbrellas. Top spot for me and my wife! RadioMann - 25 Nov 2008 00:57 |
I only found three drinks more expensive than anywhere else, and prixes usually reflect the overheads of a nice large comfortable pub in a beautiful location. Those wanting cheap booze are better off in the town centre at a pile it high and flog it cheap shop. The food portions are generous and its all fresh, so its probably not expensive relatively speaking. anonymous - 31 Aug 2007 20:00 |
