| Having been past this pub for years on the bus during my visits to the Island, I finally had the chance to venture inside for an ale the other night. It was early evening and quiet - a selection of ales available including a Bass xxxx mild. Myself and mate enjoyed a Hobgoblin. Nothing overly fancy about the place, which I like. | The new landlord, Steve, has refurbished this pub and the new chef is great. Food is affordable and very tasty. Beers are varied and of excellent quality especially the real ales, Bass and Hobgoblin. There is entertainment too on a regular basis and sprts fans will enjoy the large TV though personally I prefer non-tv pubs. gulliver888 - 5 Jan 2010 14:45 |
| Visited early evening and drank lager as the selection of ales was minimal and I'd worked up a thirst working in my mum's garden. Now doing food which looked good but the menu's were photocopied and were filthy. Put you off the food which as I say did look rather scrummy.
