Shocking!! really rude totally disinterested staff who were severely undertrained and disorganised, with no obvious signs of management! How they can advertise "home cooked Food" is beyond me, cold hard chips, burgers full of water, dirty ramekins for sauce! the food is obviously all frozen and just reheated Genuinely no better than a weatherspoons which would have been 1/4 of the price. Pubs like this are the reason the industry is suffering! Dannykwi - 25 Jul 2011 18:17 |
Eight of us went to the Tigers Head on Sunday for Sunday lunch. It was part of my fathers 80th birthday celebration. We arrived at 11.45 for a 12.00 sit down but the pub was shut with people waiting outside for it to open! should have known then what the experience was going to be like. The table was two odd tables put together in a corner, the food, if you can call it that, was cold and tasteless, everyone these days can cook a roast dinner i am sure but not this place. spuds cold, meat tasteless and like it had been boiled vegetables just shown the boiling water then taken out. in all a total disater they should not be allowed to serve food or call themselves a restaurant. my desert had a long blonde hair in it which really did finish me off. and for all of this i had to pay the bill which was not cheap and leave a tip also. i am told the beer was good well well done for that, after all you are supposed to be a pub. What a let down for Chislehurst, which i always thought was quite a posh place to live and socialise, but not anymore. BEWARE ANYONE EATING HERE IT IS RUBBISH! manu - 1 Nov 2010 22:12 |
Like the previous poster, I was also told a new chef had started at Tigers who had been asked to join the team from a michellin star restaurant. All I can say is it is fairly obvious why this chef is no longer at that kitchen as the food standard has plummeted over the last few weeks. What I cannot fathom is why Tigers wanted him. About the mid section of last year food went throguh a dodgy phase, then picked up well, with a consistant good standard from about October. for a while food, ales and staff were all great. It is such a shame food has become so poor as the ales are still excellent, and with the exception of one barman with a severe attitude problem (I have seen him totally ignore a customer if it is someone he does not wish to serve), staff are friendly and knowledgable. I would have rated this a 9 back in march, now a dodgy 5 invicta59 - 4 May 2010 08:20 |
went back Sunday 11th April Oh dear, what a shame. since about last summer the food here has been equal to the excellent ales (very well kept) and friendly and relaxed atmosphere. No more. Having been told last visit that the terrible food was a glitch, we tried again. As we visited at about 1pm on a Sunday lunchtime, my partner went for a traditional roast, which should be quite hard to do badly (although not easy to do in an outstanding way). Roasties were nasty, meat was cold. I had duck. God only knows how it was cooked, but definately had not seen the inside of an oven, disgusting. Still an excellent venue for a good pint, or to socialise with friends, but if you are looking for good food, you might be better off at Burger King popmabel - 12 Apr 2010 08:19 |
Went in for a meal last Thursday (18 March 2010) and my meal wasn't all that good. However, having been told this was due to a few glitches as a new chef had taken over and was overhauling the kitchen and bringing into line with the michellin star establishment he had come from (having been head hunted) I will be back to see if this works. All previous visitis in the last year have been met with food of an excellent standard, ales that were exceptionally well kept, and very friendly bar staff. my rating is based on previous visits, as the food this time would have got a 1. popmabel - 22 Mar 2010 12:14 |
